I'd not come across the Pod brand before, but I'm very happy to recommend this as the perfect low-cost quartz model for anyone who wants a watch to tell them the time simply, accurately and reliably - recording just the hours, minutes and seconds of the passing day without frill, complication, and unnecessary features that they'll have to struggle hard with an instruction booklet to master and then never need or want to call on afterwards.
The face is clear and bold in black and white - a delight to look at because it almost resembles a star-burst. The hours are marked out in shiny silver, with the numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 displayed in full, so that it's impossible to make any mistake about the time when you're casually glancing down at your wrist.
The case is in attractive shiny metal at the sides and brushed matt on the top, and the sturdy but comfortable grey-rubber strap, which is also slightly translucent, is beautifully integrated into it in a way that would do credit to a designer watch.
The crown fits neatly flush with the side of the case and you simply pull it out if you need to stop the watch or adjust the time. (On my wrist, this Pod gains rather less than one second per day.)
I have other far more expensive time-pieces: none has given me more pleasure to wear and use than this one - a real find, a great bargain and an excellent buy!
Purchasing from Amazon, the watch was ordered on one day and delivered the next. Given my overall satisfaction with this excellent time-piece itself, in retrospect it seems only fitting...
