sims 2 review November 8, 2005 josh (Uckfield, England) 47 out of 72 found this review helpful
i got this game the day it came out and before i had read a review about that you cant age or have kids which put me off the game alot and i wasnt going to buy it. But i still got it and couldnt wait to play it. At first i found it quite hard to play the game and theres not alot of choice of clothes to wear but i wasnt bothered buy that but i no other gamers will. when i started playing the game i loved it. The way it feels is good when you play it.You can choose to move gta style or classic style which is good when you want a rest from the game and just want them to fill there needs. The choice of what you can do with the characters are great you have a wide range of what to do and say which i was happy about. And sometimes you think you've done alot of missions and you've only done a small percentage of the game which shows it's a long game. so i reccomend this game to anyone and anyone who's been put off buy that you cant age or have kids to get it because alot of new and good things about the game cover it.

Like many people, I owned the original 'Sims' game for years on Pc, and was desperate to buy 'The Sims 2' when it was released. However, when the second game arrived, I found our Pc wasn't good enough to take such an extensive game so I decided to buy the version for the Playstation 2 instead. I bought it thinking it would be roughly the same as the pc version, but it wasn't. The graphics are good, and the gameplay if a little slow, seems reasonable but after a while playing a few major flaws start to appear. The game lacks what most people loved about the first 'Sims' games. The ability to customise your house to whatever ridiculous ideas you have, to create wacky people and huge families. But the game does NOT include; * Pets (except for fish) * children * swimming pools * an upstairs layer to houses * a town centre or shops * a significantly decreased ammount of furniture for your home * a stupid fire hazard warning that puts a limit on the ammount of furniture you are allowed in your house However there are some good new benefits; * You can now create your own recipes and food. * 3d graphics with realistic enviroments * New controls to move your Sims. * New advances in designing your Sims looks. Overall, the loss of features makes the game a bit of a disappointment but it is still a playable game.

When i first bought this game i was really excited by the fact that you can grow older not realising that you cant have kids or grow older which was really dissapionting. The game is very good once you get the hang of it because you can unlock loads of different places including some underwater,on the edge of a mountain etc... A disapiontment with the game is that you can only purchase a certain amount of items otherwise you get a fire in your house every 5 mins. I also thought it was good because you can make your own recipes and grow your own food. Overall i thought it was a good game although there could be some improvements

I have always loved The Sims when they were on the PC format, but when The Sims 2 came out, my computer just couldn't handle the graphics etc and gameplay was near impossible. So i waited paciently until they released The Sims 2 on the PS2, and I bought it the first day.Ater the intial exitement of owning The Sims 2 wears off, you realise that the game really is not very good, the only thing I can say I liked about it was that compared to the PC, the game loads very quickly and gameplay is smooth. That said, The Sims 2 for the Playstation 2 is really the poor, limited version of the PC Game. You can't really do that much on the PS2 version, it is quite hard just to "play normal", IE to build a house and do your own thing, which I enjoy, but this is very difficult to do, and SO timeconsuming, as building the house with a PS2 controller is both difficult and highly frustrating. The other aspect I enjoy is creating the sim, once again this is really cut down and is not as fun as it should be, once again the player is limited to only a certain number of actions and making someone you really want is not always possible because of things being locked, which can only be "unlocked" by playing in Story Mode, which I don't like. To me, this format of The Sims 2, is the weak version of the PC game, it has been cut down to size and the player is highly limited by what they can do in terms of controlling a game. Its fun because it is still The Sims, and who wouldn't find "Possessing" someone a right old laugh, but underneath that, its not the same as the PC version, I haven't spent hours sat in front of it, as I used to with the PC games, its really just not that great. 2 Stars for being "The Sims" but nothing more because it is so very limited.
Sims 2 Ps2 - Not what it seems. January 3, 2006 13 out of 18 found this review helpful
I purchased this game just after Christmas after playing the PC version with a friend. I hoped the two games would share the main features but when I came to play my new game I found myself disappointed. Not only can one not grow older, Sims cannot have children which makes the game boring after a few hours of play as no family can develop further than "lover" or getting a job. Overall, the visuals and graphics may be realistic but underneath all that, it's rather disappointing.
