...provides a good workout... November 13, 2001 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
the fighting arena is probably one of the most innovative periphal concepts around, and provides great exercise too! The product comes in two parts a mat,and a pair of poles. the mat acts as the drectional controls, allowing you to move your character, and the poles have sensors in them, that act as your punch/kick buttons a top and bottom respectively. This allows you to get really involved in your beat em up gams, and provides a good workout, although those without much skill in the fighting department will end up looking a bit of a twonk, which is still great fun never the less...
Could have been better. January 2, 2002 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
This could have been a real change to the way games are played. Works well with Knockout Kings and other more simple fighting games. However, games won't work with it if they use both joysticks on the pad. A shame as games such as time GTA3, Max Payne and other 3D shoot'em ups would have been fantastic with something like this.Don't get me wrong, this is a step in the right direction. It just could have been much more.
Knackering! November 5, 2003 Mr. S. P. Bradbury 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It wasn't until I tried this for the first time that I realised just how out of shape I was.Great with Tekken 4 although the sensors for kicks might have been better positioned but on the whole I think it's a great improvement to interaction when playing fighting games.
Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting! (But not literally) February 20, 2003 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this because it was incredibly cheap, i soon found it was also incredibly easy to use and makes gameplay much more real. The Fighting arena has built in light sensors which respond to your every move, the only problem i faced was some boxing/fighting games which you have use the analogue stick, because the Fighting Arena uses the directional pad, but thats the game's defect not the fighting arena. I definately recommend this product for it's low price.
