Mindless Blasting at its best April 10, 2001 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The best thing I can say about this game is that I have personally never understood the desire to play as a "mechanical bot", I figured that those who do might as well go down to Toys'R'Us and buy some Transformers.... This game does rule though! The action is frenetic and addictive, some missions require more of a stealth-like approach rather than the all guns blazing plan of action (I learned this from wading in and then getting killed by the crossfire from my own allies!). Tanks, aerial gunships, bots - it's all there. There are only 5 missions, but they are quite diversestuff. Best feature? It has to be that sniper scope. Do I recommend it? Well, after I finish Mission 5, I'm off down to Toys'R'Us.... (not really)!
Gungriffon Blaze one to buy March 31, 2001 Tim Bissell (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game involves one of the most exciting exports from Japan on the PS2 that export is of course giant hulking robots that like nothing more than to shhot the hell out of eachother. This game has a superbly designed combat control, Awesomely powerful weaponry, Immediatly gratifying gameplay and the Difficulty curve is spot on. This advantages of this game are however there is not enough missions, but the ones there are, are worth replaying. Gungriffon blaze is a wonderful balance between something that is immediatley acessable while proving enough depth to have you glued to your screen
A good blast January 14, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is fast paced arcade style action the control is smooth and easy to use and there is of course the really cool zoom-in sniper button. What I really liked about this game is that the landscapes are fully 3D and your war cutting edge machine can destroy just about any building or object in sight. The explosions are cool, when you hit the enemy of blow up a big chunk of building you'll see a powerful shockwave the sounds from said explosion are more than adequate to give you a feeling of power at your fingertips. The only downside to this game is the lack of radar and also not enough of those missions, but still a great Mech title.
