Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: The second expansion pack for The Sims 2 makes the Sims' pleasure your leisure. It adds in a special new neighbourhood called Downtown, packed to the gills with restaurants, bowling alleys, shops, parks, karaoke bars and clubs. You can visit them alone, go in a group, or take that special Sim out for a dream date. The lowdown: Whether you're trying to organise a romantic date for two or a boisterous girls night out, your time spent in Downtown is constantly being appraised: commit one faux pas too many, and the timer will run out and you'll be left with a deflated Sim and an inflated drinks bills. Your Sim can now scope out a room to check for compatible partners, while other more random additions include a new "pleasure life" aspiration, cars, garages and, rather oddly, vampires. Most exciting moment: Engineering the perfect date and getting an extra use out of your new car. Ooh, and indeed, er. Since you ask: Not counting online title World of WarCraft, The Sims 2 is the best selling PC game in the world ever. The bottom line: Another generously stacked expansion pack for your little computer people. Harrison Dent

Fab!!! August 3, 2006 WYrox!2k6 (Huddersfield, England) 53 out of 55 found this review helpful
This is a great expansion pack. Much better than university as it is much more entertaining and has a lot more to offer. The new downtown neighbourhood is cool and the default comes complete with trendy nightclubs, uptown restaurants and backdoor gambling dens. There are also plenty of new objects like the dance sphere and cars that Sims can actually drive!! I would definately rate this as the best expansion pack of the Sims so far (until pets comes out in October :D).
ALWAYS LOOK AT THE SMALL PRINT December 30, 2006 Passer By Nina (Haslemere) 53 out of 90 found this review helpful
An amazing game! Nightclubs, fancy restraunts, gambling dens, cars, Tv, music - what could be better?? Perhaps a game that works? It is the same with all the other sims expansion packs, it will only work on some computers. The thing is - always read the small print!!! It says in tiny writing that the copyright protection may not work on certan computers. It does not work on SONY or MICROSOFT computers!!!! So I took it round to a friends house and she has got a dell computer. AND IT WORKED!!!!! Because my dad spent 4 hours on christmas day trying to install it we played on it for four hours!! And it is fantastic! The costumes, cars, houses, new swimming pools, bars, everything!!!!! Also you can walk areound in the street! Downtown is amazing with skyscrapers and everything!! BUY IF YOUR COMPUTER IS DELL DO NOT IF IT IS SONY OR MICROSOFT!!! nina xx
The best expansion pack ? hmmm... June 11, 2006 Game Addict (Manchester,United Kngdom) 42 out of 62 found this review helpful
Hi there i own all of the Sims 2 expansion packs from Family Fun Stuff to the Christmas Bonus Pack. Im writing this to help other people decide which expansion pack to get if they only want to get 1.And its honestly very difficult to decide which one you should get.If you like school and stuff its best to get University,You can build dorms, send them to class & graduate. If you want it more lively get Nightlife you can get cars (which teenagers can drive and sneak out in - belive me ive tried!)Get stood up & build your own clubs & stuff. But if you like it more serious buy Open for buisness you can start your own buisness Eg bakery, toy stores & flower shops, employ workers or start your buisness from scratch.Whatever you choose its up 2 u hope i helped ! By the way im selling a Sims 2 nightlife for 14.95 check it out !
Probably my favourite yet... October 11, 2006 Ellison 38 out of 53 found this review helpful
i think this is my best sims 2 ive got cos i love the fact that you can drive cars and make restaurants and stuff! if your a big sims fan, you should think about gettin this. The only problem is the best part.....the cars....There's only like 5 cars: Trabant, Truck, Family Car, Sedan and Sports car.... i wish there was more. Overall, its a great game no doubt and you should get it if you love sims, as i previously said.
The Sims 2 NightLife ROX January 14, 2006 34 out of 39 found this review helpful
I got the Sims 2 University and thought that you know it was Ok but then i found out about Nightlife. It is FANTASTIC and goes really well with University because the students can go to nightclubs and on dates and stuff which is great cos most of my adult Sims are married so I can't really send them dating .One of the things I love about Nightlife is that now you can actually see the houses around your lot and visit your neighbours at your own will. This is something I have always wanted to do since Sims 1.
