Fight Night loses by TKOJune 18, 2008 Papacy Of Evil(Birmingham UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a different game to the Fight Night Franchise... in this game you actually have to box and use your jab and consider your shots and follow the advice that the corner gives you.
It is possible to circle round the opponent and punch to the side,, step back and drop in a couple of jabs, cover up and throw a straight as your opponent winds up for a signature punch.
A very impressive game with a step learning curve on the buttons and tatics and a nice training side with online ranking
Fight Night is arcady in feel but this game will not disappoint pure pugilism purists.
Training games are challenging and you have to sacrifice training time for Celebrity Events and endorsements etc to raise your media profile to get noticed by different agents etc.
Graphically this game will not challenge Fight Night but the developers have clearly invested in your opponents AI and the feel of making your way up the ranks of your weight class. That being said its not poor graphically and there are a whole host of current boxers and during your career you get to play the part of some classic bouts and rounds that are legend.
As a first stab 2k have acheived a game that is worth your 30 will have great playability and has a good format for multiplayer with your mates on one 360 or online with one on one matches plus an 8 handed tournament event.
I would heartliy recommend this as a playable sports title with depth and live that will sit well in your collection and be fun solo/on-line or with mates and beers

One for the puristsJune 13, 2008 Mr. C. Whittaker(Blackpool,u.k) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This Boxing game is more for the purist,s so don,t expect a Fight night ! It,s more down to earth but not as glossy and arcadey as Fight night and you have to have patience and perseverance to get into the game learn the control system to get some wins under your belt. The training is good with plenty of choice of real training a boxer would do i.e running ,skipping, heavy bag ,speedball and hitting the pads ! The graphics are not as good as Fight night but not bad but I think the makers could of done a more polished job on the game with a bit more effort and time ,it sometimes feel like it,s unfinished but not a bad game for a first attempt by 2k games !
waste of moneyJune 14, 2008 Mr. Daniel J. Williams 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
i have bought this game on the weekend played it for a few days and it is awful the graphics arnt up 2 scratch, the gameplay is shoddy and i expected alot more, it feels as if its 1 of those games just thrown together for a quick sell......dont buy it
Good boxing game but the graphics could of been better!June 15, 2008 G. Beckett(England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got Don Kings Prizefighter on release day from amazon and played it all day yesterday, its a good game once you get to know the controls and I found it alot easier to play than Fight Night but the only let down were the graphics. However theres alot of boxers to choose from and on the extras theres some quality boxing bouts to watch and interviews with different boxers. All in all its a good boxing game and a great effort from Don King!
