It IS worth the money April 19, 2007 Mr. B. J. Roberts (UK) 18 out of 21 found this review helpful
I had never played any of the Guitar Hero games before, not played a demo in a store, indeed I took a bit of a gamble on this. Boy has it paid off, though, as this is a seriously great game. The learning curve is perfect with turtorials and a relatively easy start through the career mode, but completing the game on Hard (not to mention Expert) will ensure you're not done with this in a couple of weeks. Great fun, a great gaming experience. I realise that the price may be a little off-putting on this game, but allow me to really emphasise that it is completely worth the purchase price.
Words cannot describe the awesomeness... April 12, 2007 Jack Taylor (Cornwall, UK) 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
...seriously, they can't! It's truly amazing! I have had the game for 2 days now, and have barely stopped to breathe due to it's addictiveness. If you buy this game you will be playing it for an unbelievable amount of time, you just cannot help yourself! Before i bought this game, i had never played any previous versions of Guitar Hero and was at first a little cautious about whether or not i should venture into the world of rhythmic music games... but I tell you now, i have not been more pleased with a purchase for a very long time. " 65!" you're probably thinking, as i did, but once you've got the guitar in you hands, you've put the game in your 360 and you're up and running, you will realise that you have made the right decision, because this game is easily the best game i have played yet in terms of pure fun, the wide range of skill levels available, and the abilty to just pick up and play the game. You dont have to worry about trying to remember where your charcter was the last time you saved your game, or other annoyances that you might come across were you to pick up an old RPG you havn't played in a while. With Guitar Hero II you just pickup and play. It couldnt be simpler. Not only this, but the song list you have at your finger tips is great! With a wide range of styles and a briliant fusion of new tracks (DEAD!- My Chemical Romance) and old classics (Sweet Child O' Mine- Guns n' Roses) you will be sure to find something you will love. So to conclude, yeah, you could spend a lot less on some other 360 game. And yeah it might provide you witha small amount of entertainment. But will it compare to Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360? No... no i don't think it will.
Set aside plenty of time ! ! ! ! April 16, 2007 Ian Wantling 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I bought this my sons birthday present and 3 hours after plugging it into the 360 console he finally got to have ago on it.... only because I had to go to work...! ! ! The game is utterly addictive. You know you can play better, you want to play better and thankfully the songs play at 4 speeds with "slowest" being your only option to start with. As you start you're quickly told as you hit bum notes...and your delight increases as you manage to strum along successfully....If your console is linked to your hifi the game becomes even more incredible... you just can't put the guitar down, which is just big enough for an adult to use. The cost is soon justified when you consider the amount of time everyone will play with this piece of kit. An absolutely refreshing change from shoot-em-ups, role plays, racing etc.
I'm guessing here as it isn't out yet, but... March 8, 2007 Myth (Cambridge) 12 out of 21 found this review helpful
... if it really is the PS2 version with nobs on, then it will be very very special indeed. GH is easily the most fun I've ever had with a video game. Yes, you really need to be a rock fan to get the most from it, but even the most cynical can get drawn in. Highly addictive, adrenaline charging and FUN FUN FUN, I'll be there on release day to hand over my hard earned notes for this baby, even though I already have the PS2 version, just for the graphic and sound upgrades and the promise of downloadable set lists.
