Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: A next generation game of Ping Pong doesn't necessarily sound like the best use of your Xbox 360's abilities - no matter how good the graphics are. Just a few quick plays though will turn apathy into addiction. The lowdown: You might come for the budget price but you'll stay for the gameplay in what must be the most engrossing new sports game in years. Although the realism is probably going to be beside the point for most people this looks and plays exactly like the real thing. That means the controls basically work like a normal tennis sim, with four basic shot types on the face buttons and some easy to apply aftertouch available on the left stick. You can mix and match shots by holding down multiple buttons and there's a handy warning rumble when you starting getting your returns too near the edge of the table. Although the presentation is a little dry, especially for a Rockstar game, sports games don't get much more fun than this. Most exciting moment: Although it's a shame there's no doubles matches the game is still at its best online in multiplayer mode. If you don't have Xbox Live though you'll find the computer players are very realistic, with their own quirks and specialities that make them seem far more like real people. Since you ask: The game features seven extra playable characters to unlock by beating the single player tournaments. The nationalities of these players are Brazilian, Irish, German, South Korean, Japanese, English and Egyptian. The bottom line: It may sound an odd idea but this could be the most addictive game yet for the 360. Harrison Dent

Give it a try!!!! May 2, 2006 DebandCol (England) 36 out of 81 found this review helpful
Table tennis... what can I say, not exactly the first game I'd choose to buy! Who wants to buy a game solely focused on a sport where two players wallop a tiny ball across a mini table (with, dare I say, an even smaller net!). Not me! Not when there are so many other sports games out there. That is, until I actually saw this game. The clue is in the developer... Rockstar. Yes the same guys who brought us classics like 'Max Payne', 'The warriors' and of course The 'GTA' series. These guys are producing some of the best games around at the moment and, from what I've seen, table tennis will be no exception. 11 characters to choose from, 19 venues and some amazingly addictive gameplay from the moment you pick it up. If you don't believe me take a look at any games magazine on the shelves, they all agree, this may well be the sleeper hit of the year. This looks like the perfect game to play with your mates after a session at the pub! I urge you to take a chance on the game. I seriously doubt you'll regret it.
Amazing Game December 21, 2006 Reviewer (London) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a must have for your Xbox 360 collection. It's got it all. Great graphics, great gameplay, great controls... what more could you ask for. Overall, it's one of the best games on the 360. After Gears of War, Splinter Cell - DA, and PGR3 it has to be Rockstar's Table Tennis. Rockstar rule. How do they continually bring out great game after great game? Rockstar, I salute you.
Value for money February 11, 2007 Nawm (Twickenham) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
For the price it's great. The details put into the characters are excellent but it's let down by some bad controls. As a "pick up and play" game it's great, but it quickly becomes frustrating in one player mode. Stricly for after the pub with mates.
Addiction! October 18, 2006 Andrew Griffiths 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Be warned this game takes about 20 minutes to pick up and thats it! You will be addicted! Me and my mate played it six hours solid on the first day! When wife got home she took a lot of convincing that we had actually left the room since she left on a shopping trip!(We did for more beer and crisps!)On a fully dolby digital system (i have 7.1) it sounds great, the graphics are excellent and the gameplay superb. i have not played it online yet....... Buy it it is a steal. Reason for being so cheap so soon...typical 360 player wants to be running around a purple coloured "off world" shooting dragons with some kind of "mega blaster" weapon! "Ping Pong" just aint cool enough!!! Their loss!!!!!
Great fun January 11, 2007 Gary Holroyd (Gateshead, England) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
At first i was a little sceptical about this, i thought that it woudl be aother boring tennis style game but i was wrong, its easy to learn yet difficult to master, it is can be very challenging but that s what makes it fun. For racing games being thrilling, this is more thrilling then any other game I've played, have a 50+ hit rally really builds up the tension. Its one of the few games around that really hurt your fingers because you get that into the game. Simply fantastic.
