Product Description The epic saga continues with Halo 3, the hugely anticipated sequel to the highly successful and critically acclaimed Halo franchise. In this third chapter of the Halo trilogy, Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax. Halo 3 represents the third chapter in the Halo trilogy?an international award-winning action series that grew into a global entertainment phenomenon, selling more than 14.5 million units worldwide, logging more than 650 million hours of multiplayer action on Xbox Live, and spawning action figures, books, a graphic novel, apparel, an upcoming film adaptation, and more
Amazon.co.uk Preview The Halo games were always the best reason to by an Xbox and now the final part in the initial trilogy of ground breaking first person shooters is set to raise the bar for all Xbox 360 games. Well known for their secrecy, Bungie have officially revealed little about Halo 3, but what is known is that the new game features an Earth completely overtaken and controlled by the Covenant, as they seek a secret hidden Forerunner weapon. Although little is known about the single player mode, more has been seen of the multiplayer, with various beta testing schemes going on in both secret and in public. A number of new weapons and vehicles have already been revealed including a new assault rifle, the new Spartan laser anti-vehicle weapon and a new hand held shield device for Master Chief that can create a far more effective protective shield around you. New vehicles include the ATV-like Mongoose, a new variant of the Warthog and the new, more powerful, Brute Ghost. Of course the most important new feature that every new fan is interested in is the graphics, and they are looking predictably fantastic. With lots of technobabble, new features like high dynamic range lightning and pre-computed radiance transfer means the game will not only play great but looks amazing too. HARRISON DENT

How can you review a game..... December 15, 2006 P. Foreman 87 out of 160 found this review helpful
How can you review a game that hasn't even been released yet?? You've only seen footage that they want you to see. Halo 1 was awesome and so was 2 and i'm definetely gonna buy 3. But until you've played it, how can you possibly comment on it????
We all know it's gonna be fantastic don't we? October 8, 2006 A. T. Wintrip 69 out of 136 found this review helpful
I won't going to write a review until i read the Sony fanboys 'reviews' at the bottom. My question to them is- what? What are you talking about? Stop telling us that it'll be rubbish and to buy a ps3- as far as i'm concerned the original Halo games still (and will continue to) dump over any FPS on any Sony console. PS3 or not. I know my rants are pointless here, as do i know they've never played the damn game, but Halo is a fantastic experience. And as for the quote 'Halo is dead', again- What? With 4 novels, a graphic novel adaption, an absolutely massive fanbase AND a movie (with peter jacksons WETA workshop team behind the special FX) I'd say it's a little more popular than you realise. (Breathe...) Ah. That's better.
Now go back to playing Sing Star Deluxe on your (cough) Pink PS2's or whatever crap it is you seem to find fun.
Ignore this, and all other reviews April 4, 2007 Mr. R. J. Pascall 48 out of 100 found this review helpful
The game is not out, a demo does not exists and all we have are expectations, a few screenshots and some marketing blurb. So ignore all posts about this game until it is on the shelves as it may be the best thing ever or even a turkey...who knows :)
Regular Beta feedback June 3, 2007 J. Boultby (At the gates of Hell) 38 out of 84 found this review helpful
I've played through the 3 beta levels in many different game types, and i've got to say the graphics and gameplay are much better than Halo 2 and are pretty much excellent, of course, there is the slight glitch, but that's what the beta is for. The weapons come in all shapes and sizes and, while bungie will obviously still be playing around with settings, they really are great fun at the moment, with even a wide range offered even through only the 3 beta levels. The vehicles all seem to be working well, and having driven the warthog, mongoose, ghost, banshee and wraith, i would have to say that the mongoose is definitely the best vehicle, even over the armour of the wraith, although the only gun on the vehicle is the one which your rear seat passenger is carrying. Custom games come with a wide range of settings, even more than ever offered before, and will surely be welcomed by the large range of online players out there. the only problem at all which i have experienced so far is that when playing on LIVE, you need to press the D-pad in order to talk, which is definitely a problem during intense firefights.
Overall, Halo 3 is definitely going to be the game of the year to buy, and i honestly recommend you preorder now, because you'll be sorry about waiting for weeks when it's released
A little clarification. August 3, 2007 B. Cokayne (UK) 38 out of 89 found this review helpful
To all the people basing a review of this game on the beta and bemoaning the lack of new things.... what the heck are you talking about? It has already been said a million times that what existed in the beta was NOT the full repertoire of new stuff. Would be rather stupid for bungie to put all their cards on the table so early. They are holding some surprises back. Sources have already found out there are more new guns and vehicles that were NOT included in the beta. And the beta was hell of fun, I personally found it really hard to go back to Halo 2 after playing it.
