| Customer Reviews: Uh, nice work on the Multiplayer March 10, 2010 Mr. Cameron G. Phillips (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I geuss it is time i reviewed this game, with 20 days of playtime, i think i have most likely enough experiance to come to a judgement on the most anticipated game of all time.
To begin with, any chance for serious competetive play has been absolutely destroyed, Infinity Ward noticed the community hated things like martyrdom and last stand, so what did they do? they brought them back, and made them obligatory, now with the option of having both last stand and martyrdom, joy of joys.
The only problem with COD4 was the spawn system...did they fix it? no, and combined with the deathstreaks system, it can completely destroy games.
Killstreaks are massively overpowered, and assault rifles have a far too fast kill time, with too little recoil.
Hit detection is pathetic, and the game deals with lag by balancing it for all players, so a player with a 10ms ping can be killed unfairly due to a player with a 1000ms ping, a ping as high as 1000ms is infact quite common due to the lack of local search, which will make the game almost impossible to play if you come from a country such as Australia.
Weapons which were slammed by the community return, and the game feels poorly made.
The game is horrifically weak when it comes to security, IW refused to pay attention to virusses in cod4, and as a result, hacked games are common, these hacks work by exploiting the peer to peer system, infecting all players within the game with the virus, which remains on the console until powered off.
Leaderboards are shoddy and completely hacked, players at the top have over 100,000,000 days of playtime, which is rather impossible.
The perk system from COD4 has been destroyed by perks such as lightweight which give the player super speed, and commando, increasing the already ridiculous knife range.
It is clear as day this game went through no testing whatsoever, why no beta like cod4?
Do you want to know why?
COD4 left this game so massively hyped up, that infinity ward didn't want to run a beta, because it would put people off, and cut the buying rush at realease.
If this wasn't enough, they increased the price from that which standard nex-gen games cost...does this mean more money went into the game? NO, it went to Hans Zimmer for his crappy soundtrack to the clichéd single player. They calculated that people were willing to pay for such a hyped game, buying it is conferming their thoughts, which will lead no doubt to a price boost in the next game.
COD4 was successful because it was completely new, in MW2, they have failed to fix the previous title, neither have they made a new game...it still has the same sucky matchmaking and interface, same lack of proper physics.
I could go on and on and on, but thats enough slating of this rip off...Infinity ward thought it was plain sailing, they saw their grasp on the market, and strong community...they spat in its face, and drained it of every last penny until their fanbase predictably collapsed under their failing rule over the market,
as a hardcore gamer and call of duty fan...this game is a disgrace, they have no care for the players, only their own profit, wealth has corrupt this corporate machine, and I along with many others stand broken and bewildered.
This is the last investment i will ever make into Infinity Wards rotten bowels.
You have lost a fan, I shall be stabbed in the back no more.
Best FPS since Goldeneye 64 March 1, 2010 argyle1 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
All of the people saying that there's too many campers, and easy kill streaks are stupid.
Multiplayer:
The multiplayer in Modern Warfare 1 was awesome, but this is amazing!!!
There are about 6 new game modes including 3rd Person Cage Match, 3rd Person Team Tactical, HQ Pro, Hardcore Ricochet SD, Hardcore Ricochet HQ Pro
There is only about 10 guns from MW1 but the rest are brand new with new attachments and designs.
The new attachments include: Thermal Sight, Holographic Sight, FMJ (More damage), Rapid Fire, Akimbo (2x guns), Heartbeat sensor, and extended mags.
Some of the new perks are: Bling (2 attachments), Ninja (Undetectable by Heartbeat sensors), Cold-Blooded (Undetectable by UAV, Thermal sights, and Missiles) One Man Army (Change class at any time) Sit Rep (Able to seek out Tactical Insertions and explosives) and many more.
A new feature is Killstreak rewards, so there is more than just UAV, Airstrike, and Chopper.
There is about 12 new killstreak rewards such as: Counter UAV (Block off enemy radar), Care Package (Random Ammo or killstreak dropped from above) Precision Airstrike (Aim exactly where and what direction you want the airstrike) Harrier Airstrike (An airstrike followed by a hovering Harrier Plane killing enemies) AC130 (Be the gunner of a AC130 airplane) Chopper Gunner (Be the gunner of a Helicopter) and Nuke (Ends the game and eliminates everyone in it for 25 killstreak)
New weapons: FAMAS, UMP45, Ranger, Model 1947, FAL, SCAR-H, Striker, .44 Magnum, M93 Raffica, GI3, PP2000, and many, many more.
There is more equipment like trowing knifes, semtex grenade, blast shield and more.
There is much much more to explore in the game which is too much to write.
Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5/5 10/10

Favourite Game Ever January 22, 2010 M. Farley 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not going to say this is the greatest game of all time because it's all really a matter of opinion, what I am going to say is that this is my favourite game of all time.
This game takes everything COD4 did and improves upon it in every way.
First up the single player campaign, now you may have read from several other reviews on this site and else where that the campaign is far too short, all I can say is that it took me about 7-8 hours to complete on Veteran and then another hour to run through on Easy to collect the hidden Intel, if that sounds too short to you then so be it, but what I will say is that the quality of the missions are second to none.
From escorting jeeps through the tight streets of South America with mounted machine guns, to a desperate escape through rooftops in which you have no weapons at all, to close quarters fighting in the caves of Afghanistan there is a lot of variation in the missions despite being a FPS and the quality throughout never dips with amazing set pieces and incredible graphics and sound which immerse you in the game.
Now for those who thought the single player campaign was too short Spec Ops should provide them with more than enough to occupy their time.
Essentially smaller missions which can be completed either solo or co-op (with the exception of 2 missions which have to be done co-op) these are real challenges when put on Veteran difficulty, (which you were surely want to do in order to get all those lovely achievements).
I have completed all of these missions on Veteran (hooray) and it took me and my brother around 13 hours to complete, mostly due to the really hard missions which crop up towards the end involving Juggernauts (essentially super soldiers with huge levels of armour)
Overall these missions are very good and whilst some of them are rehashes of scenarios from the main game they are all extremely challenging and a lot of fun to do, in particular the missions involving the AC-130 and a mission entitled Wreckage which involves you destroying vehicles as quickly as possible with an assortment of rocket launchers and grenade launchers.
Now finally for those who still haven't had enough there is the Multiplayer, quite simply this is the most amazing Multiplayer ever taking everything that COD4 did and making it bigger and better.
One complaint that you may have read a lot about is that Kill Streak rewards are overpowered and un-balance the game, this is quite frankly a load of rubbish, if some one on the opposing team calls in a Chopper then you can either hide in doors or use a rocket launcher to blow it out of the sky (and get a nice XP reward to boot) and if you have the perk Cold Blooded equipped then you are invisible to the Choppers and Harriers etc and can't be killed!
Another complaint I have seen given is that the guns are not balanced and that riot shields are stupid, as with the helicopters, Harriers etc, everything can be countered if you have the right set up of weapons, i.e. if someone has a riot shield use a grenade launcher/rocket launcher against them, it's not rocket science and if you play the game according to the situation then you will have a lot of fun and will enjoy unlocking all the cool titles and emblems of which there are many to collect
On a side note the first time you call in a Tactical Nuke has to rank as one of my favourite moments in gaming.
All in all this game sets a new bench mark in gaming and will become the cornerstone against which all FPS's in the future will be measured against, quite where Infinity Ward go from here is anyone's guess.
Simply excellent. January 20, 2010 War gamer (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all the graphics are stunning, the gameplay is excellent with loads going on, what more could you want from a war "shoot em up"? There's enough to keep you entertained with the different skill levels and special ops too, definitely a 10/10.
