Product Description
The biggest Olympic superstars are back and the only country they're representing is video game land. The team-up that fans could previously only dream of is back, as the worlds of Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog combine at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Following the same format of the 2008 summer games tie-in you and your friends can choose to compete in authentic Olympics disciplines as everyone from Mario and Sonic to Bowser, Dr Eggman, Yoshi and Tails. Only a few disciplines have been revealed so far, but already we know that the game is going to contain ice hockey and figure skating. There will also be new fantasy events such as Dream Ski Cross, which sees everyone competing in a Mario Kart style race complete with familiar looking power-ups and speed boosts. Realism isn't the goal here, just good old fashioned multiplayer fun. - Superstar team-up: Only the second game to include Mario and Sonic characters together, featuring the official Olympics license and input from Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
- Worlds collide: Play as any of the characters from the original game - from Prince Peach to Vector the Crocodile, as well as first-timers Donkey Kong and Metal Sonic.
- Added balance: For the first time in a Sonic & Mario game you'll be able to use the Balance Board for some events, if you have one.
- The full monty: The new Festival mode lets you play through the whole of the Olympic Winter Games, including all the disciplines and an opening and closing ceremony.
- Friendly rivalry: Mountains of multiplayer options, including four-player competitive tournaments and co-operative games.

| Customer Reviews: truly brilliant game October 20, 2009 Rob Smith (North Wales coast) 54 out of 57 found this review helpful
The first Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games on the DS was and still is a fantastic game, I was doubtful that an improvement could be made on the original.
I was so wrong, Mario and sonic at the winter Olympics is loads better, with new characters, the one that pleased my little boy most was the introduction of Donkey Kong who he loves.
The great thing about owning a DS is the two player mode, watching my little boy and his cousin play this and laugh is such a joy.
The game has a little bit more than the original Mario and Sonic with the introduction of winter Island.
I can see this game filling lots of Christmas stockings and lots of very happy faces.
I truly brilliant game that amazes me just how good It is.
A game for all ages! December 29, 2009 sofie_synn 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This was one of my first choices of games for the Nintendo DS i bought recently, as i have always been a fan of Mario and Sonic.
The fact that you have such a wide range of characeter choice to play as is fantastic and there are lots of events to choose from plus you unlock more as you go along.
You also have an adventure mode where you can choose to play as Mario or Sonic, it reminds me of the adventure modes when the original Mario/Sonic games came out and in order to win you have a journey to go on and complete olympic events against an opponent.
This game is very addictive and the different types of events you can play will keep you hooked as the controls vary (stylus and/or buttons) and can take some time to master.
This is definitley a game for all ages and i recommened this game to everyone who is a fan of the Mario and Sonic game series.

I have to say I loved the original olympic games version of the best two characters in gaming history! I love the ice skating and playing with Donkey Kong - great character introduction and it ticks all the boxes for me. I'll be getting a copy for my niece and nephew for christmas and probably indulging in the Wii version as well for me. Highly recommended.
I love this game January 10, 2010 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
