Avid sims fans, prepare to be disappointed July 15, 2007 Ms. L. M. Roberts (Chester, UK) 12 out of 17 found this review helpful
I was so excited to learn that sims had come out on the wii, i expected it to have all the great features of the sims 2 on pc but with the added features that the wii provides. However, the game play is very slow, you have to go into the games main menu to buy items which takes time to load, the same goes for the requirements for a job promotion. The needs are displayed up the side which blocks off half the screen rather than being on the bottom and to be honest gameplay is nothing like the PC game. There is no fast forward function (that i have found) and the feature of being able to put leftovers back in the fridge has been removed and you have to again buy food as you want it like the very first sims games. The view is difficult to get right with you basically walking round the house rather than having an overview, and changing from person to person is also not as easy as on the PC. To be honest i have had it for about 3 weeks and only spent about 30mins on it prefering to revert back to my sims 2 seasons on my laptop.
Brilliant for sims fans. September 4, 2007 Babygirl (Kent, England.) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have to say that I totally disagree with the bad reviews this game has been getting. I also have the sims on the PC and I'm so pleased that I can now play it on the wii as well. Ok, so you have to go into the main menu to buy things, build and find out about your relationships etc but I find this a small price to pay for how good the game is; I found it didn't actually take that long to load anyway. I also found the camera easy to control, you just hold down Z on the nunchuk and move the control stick. The pets are so adorable and the town square is great place to go for socialising and to buy things for your pet. Obviously game play is going to be different to that of the PC games because you are using totally different controls. It may take a while to get used to moving around especially if you haven't played on your wii that much. I also found moving from person to person easy, all you have to do is hold B then switch to whoever you want to play as. Both myself (22 yrs) and my 8 year-old niece love this game and I will be playing it for a long time to come as well as not forgetting the PC version. Recommended.
Exactly same as the gamecube one! August 23, 2007 M. Tomlinson (notts,sutton-in-ashfield) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game is identical to the gamecube version, only difference is that you use the wii controller. If you have the gamecube sims 2 pets you don't need to buy this as it's the completely same game.I feel like I've wasted 40,I thought that they would have added new features to the game for the wii version but it's exactly the same.Be warned.
This is an average game October 11, 2008 J. Grigg (london UK) if you have the console version of sims 2 then this will no different to you as virtually all the same aspects of the game are there apart from the fact that you can have cats and dogs. there is a some new furniture as well but there seems to be no sort of story line to the game and there are no wii type of controls (such as throwing the ball etc). this is all right for people who like the sims and obviously pets but don't expect much difference from other sims games.
DONT GET IT IF U HAVE THE PC VERSION November 11, 2008 Personally I would only reccomend this to younger and first time sims players not to bigger fans and don't get it if you already have a sims pc game here are my reasons: 1. When creating a family you can only create adult sims and pets no babys, toddlers, children, teenagers,or old people. 2. The houses you build only can have 1 floor and you don't start off with as much money to build the house so your sims often become poor quickly. 3. The cheats are not very we had a money cheat and it only worked once where as on the pc version the number of times you use it is unlimted. 4. The sims don't age 5.The sims can't have children. 6. Sims don,t die 7. Sims needs increse quicker. So in conclusion if you are looking for a game which will give you long term enjoyment I suggesty you get the pc game not this one. But if you are looking for a game for a yuonger sims player then this is a good game for you.
