Manufacturer's Description: Cooking Mama challenges players to use the stylus as a master kitchen tool to cook 76 real world dishes ranging from pepperoni pizza to cabbage meat rolls. Players use the stylus to chop, slice, pan fry, knead, grate, mash, peel and more. Under Mama's watchful eye, players must first prepare ingredients, then combine, cook and present the final meal all via the touch screen. Players can even cool down dishes by blowing into the DS microphone.

a pick up anytime distraction January 25, 2007 juliet bravo (north of england) 61 out of 65 found this review helpful
This game is great. When i got it i didnt know if it would be a bit childish but it really isnt. Some of the things you have to do are really challenging and you find yourself playing again and again determined to beat a previous score. There are loads of different dishes to make and you get a rating of bronze silver or gold on each one. It has lots of playing value trying to get the best you can. I would definitely recommend this game if you like to just pick a game up and play it without having to get really involved.
A review worth reading- Cooking Mama August 8, 2007 I. OBrien (East Midlands, UK) 54 out of 58 found this review helpful
To begin with: The tiny, three line reviews ive read on here so far dont do this game justice. So i decided to wrote my own. Price: It cost me #19.99 from Game. Even cheaper on amazon ;-) ...Anyway. I had seen the advert for this on tv, and wanted it straight away. As soon as i had bought my nintendo ds, i bought this game as well. Some people are confused by the fact there are no 'levels' as such, like most games. You dont have a character, or choose a name. It is what it says on the box- a cooking game! You can choose to practice a skill first, which i reccomend. You can try frying, peeling, grating, an get ready for when you want to... COOK! Choose from a long list of foods to cook. Then follow cooking mamas step by step instructions (each stage is timed, to add excitement, and frustration! :-) In this game you only ever use this stylus/pen. The buttons are pretty much obselete. It is very satisfying, hands on game. I would not reccomend younger children to play this game- there is some reading, and it can be very frustrating for people with short attention spans. However, if you like the sound of it, you will probably like playing it too! 85% recomended!
cooking has never been so easy! February 22, 2007 Mrs. S. Mcmillan (Essex, UK) 46 out of 51 found this review helpful
I purchased the game after reading other reviews. Yes they were right, although a basic concept of cooking ( no super hereos or exploding mines and bloodshed ..)this is a great game for all ages and genders. This is the first time that my husband has managed to cook anything on time without burning it! My only downside of the game is the weird choice of recipes that I have never come across in the western world although all required concentration and accuracy. At least I didn't have to attempt to eat some of them!..........Find out for yourselves, and above all ENJOY

I picked this up because my collection was lacking games that actually have mini-games and a purpose! I found this very amusing (especially when Mama gets mad!) although some of foods i had never heard of (what is udon?). Overall, this game gets **** from me!
Good original gameplay..but for about a month.. May 22, 2007 Jastan (Gravesend, Kent) 33 out of 37 found this review helpful
Got this game on the strength of the advertisments. Have to say for the first 2-3 weeks, I couldn't put it down as I attempted to unlock all the new recipes.. However once all the recipes had been unlocked (about 50-60), all that was left to do was to try and improve your ratings for each one. Plus the multiplayer option is just one dish (burger), so no life in that either..! Despite this, it is still worth getting for a month or so, then trading in for a new one..
