once you get used to this game you will enjoy it thourghly. it is quite hard to start of with. you have to get used to the rolling, roaring and pouncing. in the first level you are helped by nala, mufasa and scar. they tell you which move to use for what and how to do it. level 1 is abit tedeous but once you get passed that you are in for fun and action packed adventure. make sure to collect 2 gourds in each level. this will get you on to a bonus level. so i reccommend. you go buy and enjoy.

Being a great fan of the Lion King and the original Virign Interactive platformer, I eagerly awaited the release of this game, only to be disappointed from the word go.
The first thing that hits you is the poor quality of the graphics. It seems as if each character has been constructed from a minimum of polygons, whilst the environments are poorly detailed and simplistic.
Bu bad graphics could be forgiven if good gameplay was in evidence. Unfortunately, it isn't. Even as a full grown lion, Simba can only roar, rool and pounce, and all of these moves can be quite awkward to pull off, especially against against a moving enemy, where I, for one, found any kind of accuracy almost impossible to achieve. The game would have been so much easier if Simba had been given the ability to slash his enemies (which would make sense, he is a lion after all).
The length of the game is not impressive either; only nine levels to cover two films (when the original game had ten levels for one film). It would also have been nice to have had other playable characters; Kiara and Kovu being obvious examples.
The in-game music is a disappointment, too. The Lion King films have great music, but this game only has two or three tracks based loosed around the themes from the films. The same track is used for each of the main levels, and is eminently forgettable. Sound effects are average; most annoying are the short comments characters repeatedly trot out (in the final boss battle, you'll quickly get fed up with Zira's "You'll never beat me" and similar phrases).
The only enjoyable thing about this game is the bonus mini-games, in fact, once you've unlocked them, you'll probably spend more time on these mini-games than on the main game. However, unless you have money to throw away, it's stupid to buy an entire game just for a few bonus games, so you would be well advised to get a decent game like Crash or Spyro instead.
Disappointing Disney January 7, 2002

This game is similar to the Tarzan playstation game in its style. However, it proved a great disappointment to my child when she completed the entire game in an afternoon. The graphics are jerky in places and the levels repetative. I'm afraid this game is going to be swopped or remain in it's box for some time. Not good value for money and disappointing in quality despite the Disney tag.
