A very good movie, as you would expect from Laurel & Hardy December 9, 2000 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
In this movie Stan & Ollie start out as road sweepers. They prevent a robbery (by accident) and are awarded a place in Oxford. The other students play some pranks on them, the funniest of those is the one in the maze (definitely worth watching). Later on Stan is mistaken for the legendary Lord Paddington, who lost his memory when he was hit on the head. Both Stan & Ollie think that Stan could not be Lord Paddington until Stan suffers a bump on the head and he turns into... well, you can imagine. I won't tell you how it ends, but I hope that I made you interested in this movie, because it is really good. Thanks for reading this.

Laurel and Hardy at their best, look out for the maze part, side splitting!
Would you believe Stan as Oxford's long-lost genius? March 13, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Released in 1940, A CHUMP AT OXFORD has the intriguing premise of street cleaners Laurel & Hardy pursuing higher education at Oxford. They don't come any dumber than Stan and Ollie, and the students take full advantage of this fact. Fans will especially enjoy Stan Laurel in a dual role: he also appears as Lord Paddington, an upper-crust academic and athletic champion. These scenes alone are worth the price of the video.
