Amazon.co.uk Review A warm Yuletide special, Muppet Family Christmas pairs the Muppet gang with the perennial favourite Sesame Street cast for a holiday celebration. With a blizzard brewing outside, Fozzie's childhood farmhouse on Christmas Eve becomes the backdrop for a medley of holiday tunes--eight in all--ranging from the Muppet band's rousing "Jingle Bell Rock" to Big Bird's sweet rendition of "The Christmas Song". Though the script meanders in part, the program shines as a musical revue, seasoned with quick-witted interludes by the culinary comedic Swedish Chef, slapstick odd couple Ernie and Bert, and the diva-like escapades of Miss Piggy. While lacking the irresistible sizzle of The Muppet Movie, the show's finale, which includes Kermit and Piggy under the mistletoe and a cameo appearance by Jim Henson, proves that nothing can dim the Muppets' appeal. --Lynn Gibson, Amazon.com

| Customer Reviews: Buy it - it's great September 17, 2000 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
A really fantastic feel-good Christmas with all the Muppet clan descending on Fozzie's mum's house just as she's about to jet off for a sunshine holiday. The holiday postponed, she must now find beds for all of Fozzie's wacky friends. Miss Piggy must make it through snow storms and snow drifts to be beside her beloved Kermie for Christmas and the Fraggles and Sesame Street gang even put in an appearance. Lots of fun for the family this Christmas - buy it - it's something special!
A Film to treasure June 25, 2004 E. M. Prieto 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My family has owned many films over the years, this is one of the few that we still watch every year. In fact it has become a family tradition to watch it every christmas eve. There are many reasons to love it. For starters it includes not only the high profile muppets, but also all of the seame street gang, the fraggles, and Jim H. himself. Being a christmas special, it also has alot of suitably festive music, in an inimitable muppet style. Being a muppet film, it has a sense of humour unequalled by anything alse. The reason though that I think this film really deserves its place amongst all the classic muppet films is its warmth. That may sound silly, but this film has a sense of involving you in the larger muppet family, that no other does. So, if you've ever, even briefly loved the muppets, this could well be the film that will allow you to relive that enjoyment.
