One of the best CHRISTMAS videos I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!! December 13, 2000 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
The greatest store in the world has a really good story lines. A mother (Dervla kirwan)and her 2 daughters, Livvy (Elizabeth Earl) and Angeline (Holly Earl) go homeless over Christmas when there caravan blows up. There mom doesn't want them to go homeless over Christmas so she decides to move into Scottleys department store until she can find a home. They have great fun and adventures in Scottleys. S club 7 even come into the store and they meet Livvy and Angeline. On Christmas morning livvy wakes after earing a noise. She wanders offf to find out whats going on. She sees the stores Santa and Elf. They are stealing the jewels from the safe. Livvy steals the jewels of them but then Angeline wakes and Santa and Elf kidnapp her. You'll have to watch the video to see the ending. This video is excellent. It has great performances from Elizabeth and Angeline Earl. They are both excellent actors for their ages. I reccommened this video.
Pleasant Christmas Film April 5, 2003 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The story of a single mother who finds herself homeless at Christmas time and decides to hide herself and her 2 daughters inside a department store at closing time. After it closes they bed down in the camping department while trying to evade the doorman who is a bit suspicious.Elizabeth Earl stands out in the role of Livy, the older of the two daughters who often have to fend for themselves. It was made for TV by the BBC, but could have been released as a feature film - it is well acted and directed.
It's THAT time of year again December 4, 2004 Elliot Davies (Liverpool, England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Everything is better at christmas time. I don't know why, but it is. Watch this in the March, or even November, and it will be one of the least enjoyable experiences ever. Watch it in December however and it'll make you cry. Simply wonderful.
Excellent film wothout a great story line November 29, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Set in a plush department store only days before Christmas, a single mother and her two daughters(Holly and Elizabeth Earl), made homeless when their caravan explodes, go and live in Scottley's, the best store in London. A suspicious door-keeper(Peter Capaldi) keeps an eye over them. In Santa's grotto, Santa(Ricky Tomlinson) and his Elf(Sean Hughes) are planning a robbery of Mr Scottley's jewels. Excellent performances alround make it entertaining for everyone. But the best performance was by Elizabeth Earl, her future in acting at the highest level is assured.
