5 out of 5 stars A heart rendering sequel to Gone with the Wind.   April 19, 2000

This story is the best possible way in which Gone with the Wind could have concluded. Scarlett travels to Ireland to discover fathers side of the family. The scenes between Rhett and Scarlett are heart-rendering. Once again you meet the old familiar characters from Gone with the Wind, which you learn how they have coped with their devestated lives, especually Ashelys. Rhett saves the day for his Scarlett in a nail biting finale.

3 out of 5 stars Excellent beginning, but gone with the wind, it isn't!!!   January 29, 2001

an enjoyable piece of viewing for any gone with the wind fan, however it is not entirely faithfull to alexanda ripleys excellent sequel, the ending of the story bearing no resemblence what so ever to the novel (a bit of a disappointment!!!) and timothy dalton is certainly no clark gable. Never the less, this video is engaging and entertaining and a must for those who need to know what becomes of scarlett and rhett and the romance of the millenium. Well worth the watching.

If you want to see everything that's good in this movie then go watch a nature film about Ireland on National Geographic. Watch this "Scarlett" only if you have strong nerves. This Joanne is no Vivien Leigh. The problem is that she is neither Scarlett. Terri Garber would have been much better. Her role as Ashton in "North and South" was very Scarlett-like.

The storyline of this movie has very little to do with the book, which was not a bad book, although not as good as GWTW. Also, this movie is supposed to be sequel of GWTW the movie, not GWTW the book, so how come Suellen all of a sudden have a family life with 3 children? I also missed Cat, she was lovely in the novel and was barely visible in the movie, although they picked a lovely little girl to play her role.

Pick either Gone With The Wind or North and South, not this movie. It's ridiculous.
