5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!!   June 25, 2004

I cannot stop watching this film, Tim Roth is fantastic. The chemistry between Tim and Julia is incredible. The acting is ok, Julia Ormond does well as the Dentist working in a prison after a break up, but her performance is a little over done at times. Tim Roth by contrast shines through as the sensitive soon to be realesed con, you never feel as if he is acting a part, he is the part and his eyes do most of the talking.

I would have preferred to see the relationship develop a little more, as this is the most interesting part of the film. The thriller angle is a little predictable, whereas the interactions between the twos leads are intoxicating. The chemistry is there in bucket-fulls.

I won't give the ending away, as it ends a little strangely, still haven't figured out exactly what it means myself.

In summary if you like Tim Roth, you will love this.

This is an excellent film for fans of British film making/actors. Julia Ormond plays a dentist involved in a messy divorce. She takes a job working in a London prison. Here she meets Tim Roths character who is participating in a day release college course. This brief freedom allows them to begin a passionate but ill-advised affair which is inevitably rumbled by some imates with unpleasant contacts on the outside who endanger 'Julia' and risk Tim's future release.
I found the relationship in this film the most interesting aspect. The passion that holds two very different people together in dangerous circumstances is beautifully protrayed. I'd recommend this film highly especially if you like Tim Roth!

It's 2:40 in the morning and have just seen this film on TV and I've come straight online to buy it - it's THAT good!

A refreshing change from the Hollywood glitz, drama and special effects, the film really relies on the actors and the story line and has the most amazing cliff-hanger ending. It is the most enthralling film I've seen for a long while - I didn't want to blink for fear of missing a moment of it.

I'm absolutely hooked and would recommend this film to everyone.

I am dying to know what happens after the ending!
