Fantastic October 19, 2001 El Reviewer (MK - UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Forget the other review here. This IS as funny as the books. Wonderfully thought out and creatively compiled, with running themes throughout the video that are interspersed with shorter tales. Unlike the books this isn't a one off caption, the punchlines are delivered slowly but with massive impact. Not only is this funny but it is truly a work of art, a quite fantastic piece of animation.
Twisted genius... April 16, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is for anybody that likes the irrelevance of Terry Gilliam's Monty Python works and anybody that's just plain sick! Not as good as his books but you never really expected that... Just to give an example of his humour these two humans kill a deer and strap him to the front of their car; two aliens then come along fry the humans and strap the car to the front of their flying saucer! An unrecognised cult classic (if that makes sense).
Dark, Fuzzy & Twisted January 22, 2007 FadingLEDs (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is atrociously rare and unheard of for a product of such quality. I recall watching it again and again when i first bought it, and when i first saw it I bought three copies, because I knew the addictive and bizarre renditions of the famous comic strip panels would go down a storm. One small anthropological observation of my own: I once watched this video with four mates from the UK, i.e. English as first language, a French mate and a Spanish mate. One of my three vids went to Spain later. The humour is so universal only the dead wont giggle and I defy anyone from any country to sit through this without constant giggling punctuated by belly laughs. The occasionally macabre topics are served up with the utmost silliness and although some themes might be a bit weird for the little people there's an underlying feel running through the whole think that this reviewer believes will only encourage a wicked sense of humour and a more well-rounded view of the world. It should be mandatory. So there.
