Shoot your Shot is better quality November 25, 2000 marko.pyhtila@saunalahti.fi (JKL, Finland) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Divine video was recorded in Manchester Hacienda on 23/11/1983. It is different than the Live At The Hacienda, which was video taped earlier the same year. The gig is 40 minutes, and was filmed with inly 1 video camera, so the quality is quite amateurish. However, if you are a true fan, this is invaluable. There are funny one-liners and rude show biz routines nobody has done before or after.
Quality time for lovers of horn - but not what the cover suggests ... February 27, 2008 Rob Brook (UK) The fey album cover suggests pop with a dash of psych or folk. It fibs: this is tough, jazzy horn and organ-fuelled transatlantic rock distinguished by the soulful vocal and guitar work of mainman Andy Fairweather-Low in a short-lived 1970 outing with former colleagues Blue Weaver, Clive Taylor and Dennis Byron from Welsh '60's pop charting band, Amen Corner. Far from the twiddly constructs peddled by most Brit prog acts of the day, it's funky and heavy, something to grace the plate of the Chicago meatpacker. Singalong single "Natural Sinner" - a Top Ten hit for the band - is here, as is a version of fellow taff Dave Edmunds "I Hear You Knockin'," (with Dave guesting). Quality time for lovers of music, bold and brassy of horn.
