Amazon.co.uk Review This underrated comedy-drama by Andrew Fleming may one day be seen as a reflection of the muddled sexual politics of the 1990s. Three dissimilar college students played by Lara Flynn Boyle, Stephen Baldwin and Josh Charles become unlikely best friends, forging a relationship so exclusive it actually troubles onlookers. From the inside, however, the trio are enjoying the safety of their own bond and exploring varying needs of love and sexual adventurousness. Erotic, bawdy, sensuous, mysterious, and nostalgic, Threesome can make a viewer envy the state of grace these characters have found with each other. All three actors have never been better. --Tom Keogh

Great '90s comedy. August 17, 2000 pabloh@fsmail.net 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
"Threesome" is a consistently funny and entertaining film. It's well scripted and the cast is excellent. The deft way in which it deals with sexuality and its avoidance of stereotype are refreshing.

this is a film unlike any other i've seen... the title is misleading as it makes it seem like a porn film! there are a couple of sex scenes, nothing too graphic, but the main focus of the film is on the emotional relationships between the three main characters. the film is on the whole, a touching yet humourous slice of fun. and did i mention its really funny?!
More than just a comedy February 14, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first saw this film on television and I have to admit that I was really suprised. I expected a stereotypical, comic piece. What I did not expect was the subtle portrayal of love and seduction. I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It calls itself a comedy though I think it was more than that, it was a moral work and a gripping drama set against the often confusing time between childhood and adulthood. I recommend this film to anyone, it was witty, thought provoking and in places quite tragic. A roller coaster of emotion!
Sweet and funny September 20, 2004 phoebes_mum (Oxfordshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The title notwithstanding, this is a sweet, funny romantic comedy; Josh Charles is superb as sexually confused Eddie, Stephen Baldwin somehow manages to be both obnoxious and vulnerable, and Lara Flynn Boyle sparks off both men. My one complaint is that, having established that Eddie is (mostly) gay, it would have been nice to have seen that side of his character develop, rather than focus as the film does on his heterosexual relationship. Very enjoyable.
Extremely funny and serious July 12, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have seen this movie 4 times already and everytime I have a great and genuine good time, laughing out at all the great lines and scenes in this movie. This is a great movie. Tha actors are great in it, especially Lara Flynn Boyle. All of it, exceptionally funny, and melancholic, because their story has to end sometime.... You won't regret buying this.
