British picture postcard humour at it's best February 24, 2001 otbfc@aol.com (Luxton, England) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
The regulars of On The Buses all end up at a holiday camp in North Wales. Stan (Reg Varney)and Jack (Bob Grant) are still On The Buses with the holiday tour bus, but the commandant (er sorry )Camp Security Officer is none other than Blakey. With Mum (Doris Hare) Olive (Anna Karen) and Arthur (Micheal Robbins) decending on the holiday centre you know the smooth running of the camp can not last. Sight gags, love stories (even for Blakey). Plus the apperance of guest stars WILFRID BRAMBELL, KATE WILLIAMS, ARTHUR MULLARD QUEENIE WATTS and HENRY MCGEE make this an entertaining comedy in the Best British Tradition.
CLASSIC ON THE BUSES AT IT`S BEST... November 13, 2004 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
ON THE BUSES HAS TO BE ONE OF THE VERY BEST COMEDY SERIES EVER MADE. HOLIDAY ON THE BUSES IS ONE OF THE THREE FILM SPIN OFFS OF THE SERIES, ( the other two being ON THE BUSES and MUTINY ON THE BUSES). ONCE YOU`VE SEEN THEM YOU WON`T BE ABLE TO GO PAST A BUS DEPOT WITHOUT LOOKING FOR STAN, JACK AND BLAKEY. TOTALLY ADDICTIVE, EVEN MY FOURTEEN YEAR OLD SON NICKY PUTS IT ON. ALL THE OTHER KIDS LOVE IT TOO, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MADE SO MANY YEARS AGO. IT JUST PROVES THE OLD ONES ARE THE BEST. THIS FILM IS HILARIOUS, ESPECIALLY SO AS WE HAVE BEEN ON HOLIDAY AT THE SAME CAMPSITE. ENJOY IT, ITS GREAT FUN.!!!!
Even funnier than the previous two! December 9, 2007 FAMOUS NAME (UNITED KINGDOM)
The last, but ironically and undoubtedly the funniest of the 'On The Buses' trilogy of the block buster movies. 'Holiday On The Buses' - as the title suggests, takes place away from the usual depot. Olive and Arthur's baby has now grown to a small child who wreaks havoc in a rented apartment, and just after they've re-decorated! Stan, Jack and 'Blakey' all get the sack from their old jobs, only to find new ones, but to poor 'Blakey's' horror - end up reunited once again! Stan's mum has a final fling with an Irish over-sexed gent (Wilfred Brambell) which leads to some hilarious scenes on the dance floor! This also stars Queenie Watts and Arthur Mullard. Pat Ashton is noticeably absent. Look out for Michael Robbins' side-burns here - they're getting longer and sexier!!
