Hasbro start their new Legacy Collection for 2008 with wave one consisting of figures from Return Of The Jedi.
As an added bonus, much like 2006's hologram figures in The Saga Collection or 2007's collector coins in the 30th Anniversary Collection, this year they've done something better - the Build-A-Droid `Droid Factory'. Each figure comes with a component of a small Astromech droid and when you get 4 figures in numerical sequence (in 4's starting with 1!) you get the whole droid.
The next figure in the series is #02: Luke Skywalker. This Luke is actually based on one of remaining deleted scenes from Return Of The Jedi. After the escape from Jabba in the dune sea, the group return to their ships and run into trouble when they encounter a sandstorm. Those of you who have the Star Wars: Behind The Magic disc will be familiar with the scene.
Luke has head (rotational and vertical), shoulder (rotational and abductional), elbow (vertical and rotational), wrist (rotational), torso (rotational), hips (vertical), knee (rotational and vertical) and ankle (rotational and vertical) articulation which gives him a very poseable 23 ranges of movement.
He comes equipped with a tan hard hood scarf, a pair of goggles, his green lightsabre and a lightsabre handle which connects to the right side of his belt.
The droid for figures #1 - #4 is R4-D6 and Luke comes with the right leg of the droid.
A somewhat obscure figure and several versions of Luke in this costume have already been released so this is really for collectors and completists.
