I bought this tester mainly to find the stud work behind a number of plasterboard walls. It didn't work, giving a signal continuously no matter where you placed it on the walls.

Only works with 9mm plasterboard - with 12mm or even 9mm with a skim coat, just forget it!

As other reviewers have found, this detector is useless for finding studs behind walls - it's sensor continuously sounds whenever the detector is anywhere near a wall! Its metal detector is also poor - I have a very cheap detector for metal and wiring which is far superior to this. Avoid this at all costs!

It's not a stud detector, it's a wall detector. I can detect walls on my own, even with my eyes shut, so this isn't a lot of use to me.

The wire and pipe detector part seems to pick up studing, but seemingly not wire and pipe (tested known locations).
The stud detector part doesn't work stably. Picked up studing but when moved to another area, continued to beep untill lifted off and then replaced against wall.
I STRONGLY RECOMEND YOU NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT!
