Total rubbish September 30, 2007 info13818 (UK) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this item from Amazon about a month ago and thought it was going to be really useful. Three days ago I went out to start the car which had been parked unused for about 3 weeks. While there was still some power in the car battery it wasn't quite enough to start the car, so I figured I was saved with the Blackspur. It only took seconds to hook up but it just didn't have enough juice to start the engine despite being freshly charged!! After about ten attempts I walked down to the road to a mechanic who came up with his own starter kit and it worked instantly... The mechanic told me that these budget priced starter kits are a complete waste of money and just don't have enough power to do the job. I once tried using the air compressor side and that was similarly disappointing. First of all it makes a terrible racket which is frankly embarrassing as all the neighbours start checking where all the noise is coming from. Although it does slowly pump up the tyres, I found the pressure readings to be pathetically inaccurate so I was forced to guess what the real pressure was like. Don't waste your money on this kit.
truely worthwhile investment. October 18, 2007 Mr. Alastair Kirby (Guildford, Surrey, England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
i drive a classic mini, and as such frequently find myself in trouble with flat batteries, usually due to one of many poor alternators. i bought this from amazon and have used it well over a dozen times, as much as 4 times in one day and it always performed instantly. i would gladly pay far more for such a useful tool considering how many times it has got me out of hot water, including breaking down in the middle of a main road. simply hopped out, plugged it in and off i went. as quick as that! the other reviewers views on this tool are simply wrong, i can only say he must have not charged it the recommended amount before first using it. All batteries are 12 volts so there is no way it could not work on ANY car.

I can only say that the bad review came from someone that obviously didnt put it to full charge the first time. works great.
Wow! Great Gadget! December 29, 2007 Savannah (Kent) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Started my car's flat battery the first time. Makes a bit of a loud whirring sound, but over so quickly and a very small price to pay for doing such a fantastic job. Am very impressed and would most certainly recommend!
