A great strimmer-Light well balanced and at last a strimmer with a decent shaft length. I am 5'7" and find most of the light wieght strimmers to short and I have to stoop to use them.

Ok just to ket you know. I am repsonsible for qaulity audit's on these products for Bosch. These trimmers are great, they are lightweight and easy to assemble. You may though notice some substantial vibration on some machines thought this is few and far between. To fix the problem (no mention of this is made in the manual btw) simply undo the spool and move it round to the next position. You'll notice 3 little arrows on the spool, menaing there are 3 different positions it can be fitted. You will be surprised at the difference it can make! Happy strimming!!
how not to enjoy strimming August 3, 2007 greenfingers (county durham, england) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this strimmer is a real pain, the blade cuts the line (fair enough)but it then for some reason only sticks out an inch out of the reel(impossible to strim),then in the hour i used it it completely disappeared, and what a fight to get the end off (probably impossible if you are arthritic)then of course you get back to the line being to short to strim.no i'm going to have to buy another black and decker,my last one was excellant.
Not happy with this strimmer July 31, 2007 Maggie May (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought that all strimmers had automatic line feed - but this one doesn't and therefore is continuously running out of line and a button has to be pressed to let out more line - a real nuisance. I cannot understand why anyone would manufacture a strimmer without automatic line feed - the difference is so amazing. Also it's strimming is not as good as other strimmers I have had. I will have to buy another strimmer next time I am near a hardware shop - and then I can throw this Bosch out.
Good for light to medium work May 31, 2008 J. L. Gerretsen (Stockton-on-Tees, United Kingdom) If you are just trying to keep a well organised garden in trim, this is a great little strimmer - not powerful enough for tackling overgrown bush and stringy weeds, but fine for trimming the grass on edgings and paths. A few other reviewers have complained about having to push the button to advance the line. I don't find this a problem really, just tap the strimmer lightly down on your garden path or any firm surface whilst the motor is running and presto, it's done - you'll hear a pitch change down in the buzzing sound as the line grows longer. No strimmer line will last forever, especially if you are strimming near brick edgings where it wears away pretty fast. By the way, the blade is there to standardise the length of the line as it advances. I've had experience of the brutishly powerful strimmers in South Africa ("WeedEaters" as they are called) which can easily severe a hand from an arm. One of these, this is not... but then we are fighting a bit of grass over here in the UK, not semi-grown trees and the occasional cobra!
