I've got one these and they are fantastic. It never comes to the mind that you will ever face a situation where you are faced with a dead battery or flat tyres. But if you are like me you will always want to be one step ahead of that day when you face such a situation. Cars are a very funny machine, especially the battery, i've used it once on my car which had a new battery fitted couple of months ago battery and found it very easy to use. Also the air compressor comes in handy when the tyres go flat. There are some other bits and pieces to pump other things like mountain bike tyre, balloons etc. This item very good to keep- recommended to all drivers. You will not have to get someonelses car to jump start yours anymore, nor will you have to push your car to the petrol pump to get tyres pumped. All this is done by this yellow box. This is definately coming camping with us this year.
Just doesn't work. January 8, 2008 S. E. Parnell (Norwich, Norfolk United Kingdom) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought this item despite some negative reviews that now seem to have disappeared. With tools I normally subscribe to the rule "you get what you pay for". However with a troublesome car battery I decided this would save me time removing the battery for re-charge at an attractive price. It arrived promptly and appeared to be fully charged (this worried me). However having read previous reviews I put it on for a full 15 hour charge before attempting to use it. I connected the jump start to the car battery as directed and tried to start the car. As feared the car wouldn't start there appeared to be very little additional power supplied by the jump-start. I accept I might have received a DUD but the previous negative reviews (now no longer displayed) would suggest that it's pot luck if this unit works. As for my unit ..... I'm thinking car boot.
Poor quality March 26, 2008 W. Osborne (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is one of a number of similar items called 'Power stations' or 'Emergency jump start with air compressors' that have flooded the country over the last year or so. The first one I bought for occasional use in a camper van, and not from this supplier, did not work at all. The replacement worked for 2 or 3 charges and then failed. I bought another which stopped working after the second charge. The fourth one, a Blackspur, worked after the first charge and when I needed it for an emergency some time later, would not charge. This was one was only guaranteed for 3 months so I would not advise depending on this or similar models either for regular use or for an emergency - whatever the price.
Simply doesn't work May 30, 2008 Johan Boserup (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a 2003 Range Rover 4.4L and even though it's obviously a challenge to start a big engine I expected this unit to do the job. It didn't. Not even at the time when the battery had enough of a charge to power door locks, lights, even the air suspension. But it wasn't the car - it's the unit. I gave it to my friend who owns a VW Golf, but his disappointment was as big as mine when his battery was flat and this unit wouldn't start that either. I'm not technical, but I know the unit was fully charged every time we tried it. And it didn't work at all.
