Not the most useful piece of kit October 3, 2005 108 out of 120 found this review helpful
I bought this to dispose of the mountain of paperwork I had when moving house. However it kept cutting out after 5 mins of work requiring at least an hour to reset. Then it stopped shredding altogether and simply perforates the paper and is now useless. Would not recommend...simpler to burn your confidential paperwork.
A good solid workhorse October 27, 2005 70 out of 71 found this review helpful
This a really good piece of kit. I had a lot of paperwork to shred and it works very well. The paper is shredded really small into tiny squares. The shredder I used previously shredded documents into strips parts of the documents were still readable this was especially true of numbers. It is well worth buying a cross cut machine for full security. The bin has a small window so you can see when it is full I would definately reccommend it to anyone.
No problem - works fine for us February 2, 2006 36 out of 36 found this review helpful
Puchased it to clear up backlog of old paperwork - bank statements etc. No problems with the unit - works fine. 2 bin bags of confetti in no time! However, you must remember that this product is at the botton end of the market (i.e. cheap) and so don't load up more than 3 sheets and TAKE YOUR TIME. Only downside was that window in waste basket had broken loose (during transit?) but Mr Superglue sorted the problem.
Superb home shredder August 12, 2006 J. Gowland (Derbyshire, England) 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
This really is an excellent value for money buy for use in the home or small office, it's small enough to store away & it copes really well as long as you don't try & put more than 5 sheets through at once. The window on the front is a good idea so you can see how full the bin is. It's very secure for shredding personal documents & you can't tell what any documents were after shredding. It does get quite warm though after 10-15 minutes continuous use so i would recommend letting it cool down after 10 minutes use.
Excellent basic cross-cut shredder May 8, 2006 Mark Of Glasgow 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
This does the business easily for home use - cross-shredding bank statements, bills, credit card slips etc no problem. It does have a 5 minute cut-out though, so it is a bit of a slow process to clear a back log but for regular little bits of shredding it's great and it appears to cope no problem with its 5-page limit unlike other ones I have tried that complained anywhere near the limit.
