not a yoga mat, not a picture of this mat July 5, 2008 Ms. A. Leat (London) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
i've just bought this mat because it came up under a search for 'yoga mat' and fit my criteria for price and colour. however, it's just arrived, and i can confirm that it is not a yoga mat. it is not anything like a yoga mat, and doesn't work well for yoga. it its defense, the product does not describe itself as a yoga mat, but as an exercise mat. i think that amazon and reebok would do well not include 'yoga' as a search term that applies to this product in order to avoid disappointment. in addition, one of the two pictures here is not of this mat. the image of the rolled up mat with a grey edge is correct and gives you an idea of the mat's firmness. this image also gives the correct idea that the coloured side (blue or pink) is a sort of canvas finish and the other side is a grey sort of foam. this mat is actually very hard and wants to stay rolled up. it has lots of memory, and doesn't fold on itself easily as in the manner of the first image listed for this product. that image is of some other product and is misleading. this mat does not fold on itself easily as a yoga mat should do, and it is not really suitable for yoga in any way. i wish i had not bought this product, but now that i've opened it i'm sure i can't return it. do not make the same mistake. if you want a general exercise mat, i expect this might be good for that. if you want a yoga mat, do not buy this product.
Waste of money October 27, 2008 kayjay (london) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was my very first personal Yoga mat. It was cheap so I thought I'd snagged a bargain. BIG MISTAKE I have had this mat for ages and it is still not good enough. I since then bought a new one but still have this for friends when they come to mine for yoga evenings. I think there is something wrong with the material as it is slippery (even after a good washing) and unsuitable for Ashtanga or any other form of energetic practise. Please do not get this if you practise Bikram yoga. I am giving it a star because it is my emergency mat -though I'd rather go bare than use it :-)
