4 out of 5 stars Compact, solid and a great workout while watching TV   November 1, 2006

Got this a while ago. I'm one of those who always say they're going to go to the gym and never get round to it.

Bungee cords are strong and give your arms a good workout(can easily be used without the cords as well). Display can be easily read by a glance down(which give you calories, time and how many steps you have done. Came pre-built, just had to clip on the bungee cords and 1 big knob which controls the tension. I was up and running within 2 mins of taking it out of the box.

Also found(for those who really can't be bothered to do it properly) that it can be done while sitting down. Doesn't give you have as an effective workout but better than nothing.

Good stepper for a bargain price.

1 out of 5 stars cheap and thats about it ....   March 15, 2007

Bought this as it looked durable with the pneumatic engineering and the price was really good. Happy with it for about 3 weeks.

Then the problems started. Would work out for about half an hour on it and it would only take 10 minutes before the thing started creaking. Well turns out the bolts were not done up tight enough. Still a quick hunt for a screwdriver and I am back in business.

Noticed over a few months the foot plates were hitting the frame base. This was due to the metal brackets that hold the metal cross cord under tension were shearing away. Thus, rendered completely unuseable.

Dont buy, unless you have money to burn.

Bought this just before Christmas. Seemed brilliant at first. Quick to set up and easy to use. But, like the other reviewers found it soon started to squeak, and the footplates hit the base. The final straw or should I say SNAP, was when the metal cable broke through metal fatigue.
I am very annoyed as this has been one of my favourite exercise options.
Pay a bit more if you can or buy an exercise DVD instead.

2 out of 5 stars A cheep, but not recommend for every day user.   March 5, 2007

I've received it in the middle of February, and used nearly every day for 5 to 10 minutes. During use it, I've noticed some metal burning smell when I used it over 5 minutes or so, and now a wire cord broke through metal fatigue and not usable. I liked when it was arrived, it looks nice and reliable, but within a month it has broken. It is the cheapest stepper, but wouldn't recommend anyone who would like to exercise every day over 10 minutes. It really wasting money.

I have had mine for about 6 weeks and used almost daily for about 20 minutes, found it very uncomfortable on the soles of my feet (wearing trianers). This is something which you can come to terms with, but the other day the thick wire cord that makes it all work broke through metal fatigue. So the machine is now unuseable. The excerciser seemed to give a reasonable work out when working if you could stand the uncomfortable feet problem.
