Neon White Pro February 24, 2007 Book Worm (Kent UK) 109 out of 119 found this review helpful
I have been using various powerball for over two years now and I love it as much now as when I first got it. The manufacturer's description really doesn't do this product justice, although their website does. If you use this powerball at low speeds it is great for RSI and other wrist/arm injuries. At high speeds it gives an amazing workout and really builds up all the arm and shoulder muscles. The build quality is incredible (do not be tempted by inferior wannabes) and the lifetime guarantee is unbeatable. I've had to replace a small part already (due to my intensive usage!) and they sent out the part quickly, free of charge and with full fitting instructions, can't say fairer than that! It is truly addictive and put it on a table in a room full of friends and you will all soon be fighting to out do one another on high speeds and other stats that the computer on top measures. The Neon Pro is a fun take on the original theme and is perfect for us powerball addicts who want that little something extra. I could write so much more about this product, but really you've got to buy one and try for yourself, you will not regret it!
Powerball Newb and I love it! January 7, 2008 Mr. R. Betts (Swindon, UK) 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
I am completely new to the who Powerball scene and I don't play any of the sports listed or any musical instruments.
Purely by chance I stumbled upon this item on Amazon as it was getting 4-5 stars, so after reading a few of the reviews and finding out what all the fuss was about I was intrigued and I had to give it a try.
At this stage I must point out that like a lot of the male population I am a slave when it comes to impulse buying and gadgets and I've been the unfortunate owner of some poor gadgets and toys as well as some good ones.
The Powerball is defiantly one of my better buys. As I said at the start, I'm not a sporty person (Snooker and the odd game of football is about as far as I stretch) but I fancied a bit more exercise and increasing my arms strength. Don't get me wrong, this item isn't going to give you a CV workout, or get you breaking a sweat but the force it generates will certainly increase your arm muscles & strength and certainly took me by surprise how much power it does generate and I've only got it up for 8,000 RPM (just half of its potential!).
It takes a while to get used to starting it up and I've still not mastered doing it without the string, but after a couple of attempts you get used to the `rhythm' of it and now I have no trouble at all starting it up and keeping it going for as long as I want. Be patient at this point, it can get frustrating when you can't get the thing started!
The main thing that sells this to me, is I can't put it down, I know its cliché, but it really does make it a fun way to exercise your arms and its addictive. I can sit there watching the football on the TV and using this at the same time and it doesn't feel too strenuous.
The only tiny tiny thing I can grumble about is the noise it makes, it not horrendously loud, but its just enough to put me off bringing it to work with me, which is a shame because I'd be using it all day.
So, hopefully that gives you a good idea of what the fuss is all about from a newb perspective, read the reviews and if you think its something you want to give a try, go and get one!
Can't put it down! September 22, 2007 S. Singh (England) 27 out of 28 found this review helpful
Very addictive and once you get the hang of it (in the first 5 minutes), you really can feel it working on your muscles. Brilliantly useable whatever you're doing. Love it!
Best model so far November 28, 2007 D. Johnson (North Yorkshire) 23 out of 27 found this review helpful
I've used several powerballs, 250 Neon Pro, the awesome 350Hz and this signature version. If I were to choose just one to own, it would be this. It takes punishment better than any of the others and still runs silky smooth, plus it's not quite as damaging to the pocket at the metal one.
If you're after the best strength results, go for the 350; you really will notice the difference. If you're not going for absolute power and strength building and just want something to use on occasion, for entertainment or to challenge your mates in the office, get this. It'll easily outlast the 250Hz models. Yes, they have a lifetime guarantee, but you have to pay to post the thing to Tipperary each time.
Good but soon tire of it August 12, 2007 styles (UK) 19 out of 26 found this review helpful
This is a good product that you will enjoy for about two weeks.
After that it will gather dust. If you do have tennis or golf elbow or RSI then it could help so would be worth having.
