Norton 360 v2 hell! April 6, 2008 Mr. Martin Beattie (Bolton, Lancashire, England) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Norton 360 I love this program and has proudly sat on three of my PC's for the last two years. Norton 360 V2 has brought to it the following problems on my PC's. Microsoft outlook now refuses to close correctly and leaves an Outlook.exe process running it also takes Corel Draw paint CorelPP.exe as another application that cannot be closed. Also if you are upgrading form v1 you will lose your online space as V2 does not share with previously backed up files and if you had saved 50mb you lose that when switching to v2. The most annoying part of any program is if it cannot close it self and ccSVChst.exe is an example of a program that cannot do this. The technical staff a totally bewildered as to why and have installed and reinstalled this product 11 times still it does not improve. Before you guys out there say it is a problem of the PC. When version V1 is reinstalled the problems described above do not occur. They have also finally solved the problem with "Norton Confidential Browser Helper" which used to prevent some flash and Java sites from closing correctly (This has now gone) However be careful I think this product has been developed for VISTA. Norton 360 Rocks, V2 is a serious contender for STARSHIP TROOPERS FAME for the amount of BUGS it has in it and no amount of troopers will quell this planets short comings!
This is wonderful......... March 6, 2008 Book Lover (London) 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
As I have started to seriously use the Internet to buy goods I downloaded Norton 360 2.0 trial from Symantec. I was so delighted with it that I have upgraded from Norton Anti Virus to the full Norton 360 2.0 program. I can't recommend it higher it works in the back ground with out my input after set up and I am especially delighted that the phishing protection is on FireFox not just IE. I know by earlier reviews of the original 360 (not 2.0) that there were problems with it. I have found none mind you I am using XP not Vista? My recommendation is buy it.
Very impressed! June 25, 2008 J Cattermole 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is definitely the best anti virus i have chosen so far, i found it alot more effective than the AVG which i found later on to slow your computer down, i have yet to encounter any problems. The installation was fast and easy, and being Norton you know that it is quality, and also you can use on 3 PCs so that is really useful. It's working silently as i use my computer so i kow it's dong its job, it also cleans your computer up fixing problems that slow your computer down and removing anooying tempory internet files that fill your computer up! And best of all protects the files that you love and need! Highly recommended suitable for all, it's easy and fast and you know it's a quality product.
360 makes for a non revolutionary approach June 28, 2008 M. de-layen Vian (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have always struggled with Symantec stuff. Its the same with AOL as an ISP. What common feature brings these two disparate solutions together? It is the way that they take over your PC. This 360 is genuinely making a hell of a fuss with over elaborate interfaces and menus, wonderfully graphical areas to search through. And of course this kind of misses the point. You don't want an antivirus or other security related product to come up with a window like word. You just want it to quietly sit in the task bar and protect your asset (data). 360 is another overly flamboyant AV solution from symantec that taps into those that need to see that their data is protected. I still maintain its a little hungrier than others and is too in your face. Regardless knowing the research and networks of information an organisation like this has at their disposal for core functionality you are likely in good hands. But we will only ever know that this is true when we are hit by a new malicious trojan and it is captured by 360. So no real test of its' heuristic talents just an impression so far..
Norton 360 5***** June 1, 2008 Mike Carlton (Uk ExPat in Spain) Having just re-newed my subscription i have to say how impressed i am with this product, i am using the windows VISTA O/S and have nothing but praise, love the way it works in the background effortlessly, had no problems whatsoever, Norton 360 is the 3rd A/V ive tried and certainly for me THE BEST...!
