Quite good at what it is supposed to do September 20, 2008

This software works well, and also integrates with Sony Vegas.
It generates musak, basically. Quite good musak, but it is still musak. The sort of stuff that gets used for short commercials, background to news clips, and so on.
If you are making a serious film, go and get a real [human] composer. A million times better.
Listen carefully to the many samples on Sony's website to see whether the currently-offered themes meet your needs. Some are really very good; others a little dated. Most are geared to underpin atmosphere in movies (a nighttime chase, a slow drive through a wide landscape...) and I found that some were very evocative, just not evocative of what I wanted to use them for.
For the right application this is probably perfect - and very good value for money when compared with other royalty-free solutions; but just be sure it matches what you have in mind first.
