Won't install - useless tech support. March 16, 2006 166 out of 174 found this review helpful
Will not install on Win XP Home SP2. The Yahoo tech support is very poor - about 10 days for a response, which does not solve the issue. As an IT developer I think I have explored most possibilities as to why the intallation fails, and no joy. Save your cash, or at least download the free trial and make sure it will install on your system before parting with you money.
Pay Pay Pay - to use this product March 14, 2006 129 out of 132 found this review helpful
Beware this product! I wish I had seen these reviews before I spent my cash on this. First time I used the MP3 CD copy it works once & then says you have to buy an add on license. This costs £14 extra, having spent £30 I thought best to buy this add on, only to find now that I need further add ons & it doesn't do WMA files!!! This is the best example yet of a product 'not doing what it says on the tin'
A good try! March 12, 2006 82 out of 89 found this review helpful
Ahead have tried to accomodate the growing amount of Home dvd creators among us and tried to include the norm but have left things a bit short. If you are a beginner things can be a bit daunting at first but with persistence you can get good results. Creating an MP3 CD or DVD can be a as simple as 1-2-3 on the music CD interface but when it came down to testing this software I had to drop my mouse to the pop-up interface and selct Nero Burnining ROM. I decided to test it out on a Lightscribe drive and ran two computers side by side. One with Nero 6 Reloaded and the other with Nero 7. The Nero 6 interface when writing Dual Layer DVD's was more in tune with the media I was using and wrote the compilation in one throw of the coin so-to-speak. Nero 7 complained and halted halfway through the second Layer. I thought it may be a faulty Disc but I tried another and the same result occured. Not a piece of software I'd rush out to buy. It needs improvements in media recognition and interfacing before I would recommend it to other Authors. The other parts are literally polished versions of Nero 6 Reloaded and account for very little as far as recording reliability. The labeller needs a bit of work especially when it comes to Lightscribe. Why not give us more customisabilty when it comes to layout and better guidelines for Lightscribe beginners. On a return to normality your average DVD writer will manage most of the tasks thrown at this interface. Lite-on, Sony and Samsung worked well but when comparing the time needed to write each project was 17% slower than Nero 6 I am sorry to say this but this is no encouragement to buy the new interface. I usually rate Nero very highly and never use their Incd software because once an up date arrives if you haven't finished or completed a session with the previous version you can never read or write to that session again. a fault which has been with direct cd writing since it was started by Adaptec whom sold the software onto Roxio and are still in production of the Easy CD range of writing Software. I have been fair to the face of the software and even being a steadfast Nero fan, I am not happy with this version of the software. My guess is software sales have dictated this.
Nero 7 Premium March 9, 2006 71 out of 91 found this review helpful
I was a fan of Nero and was keen to buy Nero 7 Premium. But I thought it best to read the reviews first. I'm glad I did. On balance, this seems to be a product that has been rushed on to the market to capitalise on the Media Centre' boom and, in so doing, Nero has been casual about ensuring that their product is fit for its purpose. This, together with an apparent cavalier approach to customer service, has ensured that I will now choose another product. If Nero can disabuse me of this assessment I'll be pleased.
Nero! November 5, 2005 49 out of 57 found this review helpful
It would be great to buy a new Nero product that was certain to work with current operating systems such as Windows XP with SP2. Sadly 7 Premium isn't one of them. It appears to be an old product with some nifty new graphics. My advice is - if you have a burner that works, don't buy this one. If you haven't, be prepared to hunt around for fixes for the various problems you will probably encounter.
