Breath of fresh air July 24, 2007 J. Mott 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you are fed-up with adobe acrobat reader and standard editions because of the apalling file size of the original application and continual huge updates together with continual 'snooping' on your pc then go for this excellent software which does the vast majority of what most users would require including quick pdf conversions from word and excel for a fraction of the price. I have ditched adobe and haven't regretted it a second.
Good value pdf creator October 1, 2007 Mr. A. Clark (Romsey, Hampshire United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product does exactly what I purchased it for; create pdf files from Word or Publisher documents. I was concerned that it might create big files, some products simply convert everything to a graphic and put that in the pdf. This product produces similar sized pdf files to Adobe Acrobat but costs a fraction of the price. All the files I have produced read fine with the Adobe Acrobat reader. The easiest way to convert is to print it using the Visage eXPert PDF printer which appears on your printer list after you've installed the program. I am using it with Vista and I have not found any compatibility problems. On the negative side: The PDF to Word converter is only successful with simple pdf files and doesn't handle tables at all well. The pdf editor is a bit weird. It doesn't convert web pages very accurately. Over all, a good product and great value.
eXPert PDF Pro 5 'Not so Expert' October 27, 2007 B. Welch (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having read the reviews this program sounded just what I needed to convert files back from PDF to word. In reality the quality of the finished `word' or `rft' document was so poor I simply deleted them. The effort required to correct them was simply to great, far too much of the document was wrongly recognized. The documents concerned had variable fonts, logos and text which run both vertical at the margin and horizontally across the page. Even some standard type documents when converted from PDF to word were a very poor reflection of the original. Additionally, the help files as are the .chm type and not much use. OmniPage 16 makes a much better effort than eXPert 5. I wasted my money...
Not as good as it says September 8, 2007 Franz Liszt (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this primarily to convert PDF into Word. It does so, but with strange 'X' shapes across the whole page. Editing PDFs is also a bit unpredictable. Overall disappointed and instead tried another downloaded product to do pdf to word conversion which works much better.
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY February 25, 2008 Harsh Critic (Ramsgate, Kent United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this to make simple corrections to existing PDF files to avoid the need to go back to original sources to get changes made. However, every time I made even a simple change which appeared OK, saved the file and then reopened it, pages with changes on were blank! Also the editing process was time-consuming and frustrating.
