Ink Saver 2

You can print off a test strip which shows you the same photo printed at between 5% and 75% savings to show the difference and I think most buyers will be pleasantly surprised on how much ink they can save for everyday throwaway print tasks.

You can also input the cost of your B&W and colour cartridges and InkSaver will show you how much money you've saved.

I'm lucky in that I can use compatible cartridges which cost a few pounds so cost isn't really an issue for my daily usage. However, I don't see the point in needlessly wasting ink where you don't have to.

I've given InkSaver 2 five out of five as I haven't come across any negative points, it is beautifully simple to use and I would wholeheartedly recommend it especially if you are unfortunate enough to have a printer where the cost of replacement cartridges is more than the cost of the printer itself.

I purchased inksaver from amazon and nowere does it say thatit is a trial disc now they want me to pay to continue useing it if i had known i would not have purchased it

I had bought this software in May 2004 and i don't regret buying it because it really does get quite expensive to shell out 4-5 inks cartridges an year. The colour ink does tends to go more quickly than the black ink. Its good when you have children doing their homework or if you have a little office at home writing essays, you will realize the benefits of this software.
I've had inksaver 1, which at first caused installations problems. So I requested an replacement and to my surprise, Serif sent me inksaver 2, the latest at that time.
After that i never encountered any problems since. It is easy to use and you adjust the ink settings yourself and a sample page is printed out to allow you to see the differences. The max you can save is 75% and by this stage the pictures and text is looking slightly faint. Great if you are just printing off unimportant stuff from the internet.

Once installed it is an excellent package and definitely saves 25% ink with no noticeable reduction in quality. I had Ink Saver 1 with an old printer but the new printer was not recognised by the first edition.

On installing it requests that the software is registered. The user name and serial number on the instructions were entered exactly as shown and as requested but the registration code is not recognised - it becomes a trial version for 15 days. I contacted Inksaver direct, completed their on line registration form and then completed a lost registration request. A new registration code and username was sent to me and this allowed the software to be registered for permanent use.

A second copy from Amazon had the same problem.

Works well, but serial number doesn't work to unlock the trial version. Inksaver website suggests uninstalling and downloading version from there - but this still detects the uninstalled version so refuses to load. No email to contact them on. So I suggest you don't buy it from here sadly.
