Norton Internet Security 2007 and Norton AntiVirus 2007 December 27, 2006 Paul Lawrence (bangor, N. Ireland) 68 out of 71 found this review helpful
I bought both of these products being guided by Amazon as the AntiVirus being the 'perfect partner' for the Internet Security package. This is false information. The Internet security package contains an antivirus package already and when you try and load the AntiVirus, you get a message saying that there is already an AntiVirus package installed and you should delete it. My conclusion is that there is no point in buying both and it is disappointing that Amazon should market products like this. Unfortunately, I did not discover this until I had both packages open. slightly disappointed December 10, 2006 Mr. D. Parmenter (lancs, uk) 54 out of 57 found this review helpful
We all know how good this is as a firewall, internet protection etc but surprised and disappointed to find that unlike Norton Security 2006, this doesn't have any anti-spam features
Awful product and customer support December 11, 2006 Mr. M. Wood 50 out of 56 found this review helpful
I used to be a loyal Norton customer but I had an issue with the product - it completely took over my PC when I installed a wireless network and I spent nearly two weeks trying to rectify the problem before I finally gave up. The only advice customer support gave was to keep uninstalling and reinstalling the product, which didn't work. Norton wouldn't give me my money back because I had the product for 4 months even though I had 8 months remaining on the subscription (they only give you a refund if you've had it less than 3 months). It seems that Norton are having serious quality problems with their product and support. I ended up buying Zonealarm security suite, which works fine and uses a LOT LESS PC resources.
Does Not Incclude Anti Spam December 10, 2006 Sledd_68 (Brighton, UK) 35 out of 36 found this review helpful
Just a warning for anyone like myself upgrading to IS 2007 from IS 2006, rather than renewing subscription, this version does not contain Norton Anti Spam. Apparently AS can be dled as a free add-on, but I have not been able to locate this on the horrendous maze that is the Symantec web site. Personally I'll solve the problem by changing my e-mail client to 'Thunderbird 1.5' which contains its own Spam filter.. Also be aware that if after install it reports your subscription not renewed, go to the activation page & re-activate, EVEN if the page reports your software as activated. I would also recommend reading the reviews at Amazon.com, more comprehensive than those here, which will describe some compatability issues. Thus far Norton IS 2007 appears to be working fine, of course the great thing is that it is updated alomst weekly so any bugs may be fixed 'on the fly' during your annual subscription.
up to date security concept October 12, 2006 Michael J. Whittaker 34 out of 38 found this review helpful
This latest update of Norton Internet Security demonstrates how important it is, to use current security software. Norton is putting extra effort into combating identity theft - a growing nuisance on the internet, and outright danger to some. Of course, this hasn't stopped Symantec from also upgrading and improving the rest of the software that is part of the security suite, and I was also delighted to see that it still installs just as easily as before. Also, I did not observe my slowdowns with my PC after the new version has been installed.
