I began using AVG after bad experiences with Norton & McAfee. It has gone from strength to strenth over the years, and many of my friends now use AVG after my recommendation. The anti virus edition was good, but the Internet Security version even better. Don't just take my word for it. try their free trial download and see for yourself. It's easily installed and very user friendly.

Had Norton 360 on my laptop but was still infected by a downloaded Rar music file when opened.Norton did not stop this.Ran Norton scan and it found various viruses and trojans but could not remove them and my internet was badly affected.Eventually was able to download Avg 8 free version and ran scan .It detected all the viruses and worms and successfully deleted them and now my system is clear and running faster than with Norton 360,which I have uninstalled and have upgraded to the 30 day trial of Avg8 internet security.This has loads of security features and is working perfectly and will buy at the end of the trial.Try it,I don`t think it will disappont.

Bought this as I wanted to use it on an old pc which operates on Windows98.
Uninstalled Norton, put in the disk AND NO IT DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS!!!!

Just so you all know, if you already have AVG 7.5 of the same software (in this case, Internet Security) then you can update your package for free. You simply go on the AVG web site, and find the section that provides you with a new Licence (you need to input your current one). It will then send you a new one, and you merely download the new software.
So far i'm really impressed - I was sceptical if it would use up more RAM with it being a new version, but it actually doesn't! The new interface is more modern and easier to look at (more Mac like) and houses a few more features as well as Internet browser options. Their are no drastic changes, which for me, is good because AVG 7.5 was already excellent.
Couldn't be happier - easy to install, no problems! Puts Norton and so on in the dust.

Once installed your instantly protected. It scans and updates without causing a fuss, other than the occasional notice that somethings tried to attack you dont even notice its there, and I'm sure you can turn this off if you do so wish.
