If you have a previous version of Nero do not buy this. You need to remove previous version (in my case 6) but it won't allow it. Doesn't matter how you try, through the add/remove programmes, the registry, the tool that Nero kindly have on their website. Spoke to their tech guys downloaded a programme to help them check my setings. Will take a week to sort. No thanks. If I buy something I wan't / expect it to work now. Be warned. Have returned it and got a refund.

hi i had the same problem as the above reviewer. I am Running windows vista premium i did a full system recovery to get rid of nero 7 as nero 8 said that nero 7 was still loaded on my system even after i had removed it via add & remove programs in control panel. as for nero 8 the software seems fine once installed and i have had no problems while using the software so far. Hope this helps

Be warned - before buying, download the trial version and use it in anger for a few days. After the first day Nero Scout - yet another indexing application - will have hogged all your PC's resources and slowed everything to a snails pace. Provided you dont need Nero Home you would be well advised to disable Nero Scout - just to enable you to do other work!!!
As a burner the application is great - but why oh why do we have to pay for all the other bloatware.

Oh dear, I should have read the reviews here before buying. This software isn't fit for purpose. I will be returning it to Amazon. My system is well above the requirements suggested and runs Windows XP. Nero6 was uninstalled without problem. Installation took an eternity, always a worrying sign. After finally installing successfully it runs for a short period and then as soon as it is asked to do any work it seizes the system.
I suppose if you have a quad core processor and 4GB ram you might be able to use it.
For anyone who hasn't bought a high end PC in the last 6 months steer clear.
How can this stuff be brought to market???

I purchased the software at a retail store. I had problems,e-mailed their tech support and worked with them. Due to nature of the "Fix", had to download the software. Had to Pay for the download.
Since Download not needed because I already owned the software, spent months truing to get a refund, all to no avail. Company refused refund due to it being a download. They fought this every way they could, and I ended up "Out" the $81+.
Really good companies like Corel do not have problems like this.
My opinion, DO NOT DO Business with this company. This is the first and only problem I ever had with a company doing business on the internet, and I purchase almost everything on the internet. STAY AWAY........
