| Customer Reviews: Great scales at a great price March 28, 2008 Tom Cat (Earth) 69 out of 69 found this review helpful
What more can be said? It's such a slim device and is perfect for storage in our cupboard. The display is clear and its easy to use; the units being changed by just one button. Its also very accurate, which makes a change!
The build quality is also what you'd expect from Salter. This is essential if you're a busy bee in the kitchen!
Fantastic Scales March 17, 2008 Eleanor (Surrey UK) 158 out of 161 found this review helpful
Decided to update my old mechanical scales and I am amazed how I lived without these for so long. They are so slim that they fit easily in my cupboard out of the way. No longer do I need to weigh food in one container and then add to another. These scales allow a container to be placed on them and then the counter to be set to zero. Ingredients can then be added in metric, imperial or liquid measurements. Again you can zero the counter and add the next ingredients.
I considered spending much more and after spending a while looking around I decided on these. I am very glad I didn't go for a more expensive option as these are very accurate (to 0.1g), easy to use and small enough to store away without losing vital cupboard space.
For the frequent and infrequent cook I highly recommend these.
Digital is the way forward May 12, 2008 Ms. L. Bates (Devon, UK) 60 out of 61 found this review helpful
Always having to stand in the same position without daring to move so your eyes are in line with the dial, NO MORE do I have to do this. A revolation for me, add your ingredients accurately, press zero and add some more, so quick and easy. You can use any bowl/instrument to add your ingredients too. I love the design also, they just fit into any space/drawer. They feel sturdy and I definitely recommend if you are sick and tired of adjusting your eyes with a dial on manual scales, buy these. My cakes have never tasted as good!!!! Like cakes and not biscuits!!!!
After all this time!! August 14, 2008 Mrs. B. Haslem (North Yorkshire) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I decided to renew my old salter scales after 42 years. What an absolute joy, no more guessing if the needle is in the right place, looking this way and then the other way. It is instant and accurate, and so slim and good looking, can't bear to hide them in the cupboard just yet. Also treated myself to a stainless steel bowl, so light and easy to wash. I think these will last me for the rest of my baking days. Why did'nt I go modern years ago. Thank you so much.
Great scales! September 3, 2008 B. Spiller (Cornwall) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I bought these scales as a replacement for my old Swan digital scales and it has been a superb purchase.
I use scales mainly for bread making and it is very accurate and sensitive to to even the smallest additions.Handy to put the breadmaker bowl on the scales and zero it between additions.
I was a bit doubtful about how it could measure liquids (ml) so used an accurate jug to pour liquids into the breadmaker bowl but the scales were spot on so now all the measurements are done by the scales apart from teaspoons of yeast and even 1 was registered on the scale!
One SLIGHT critisism is that the indicators of what mode you are in ie, grammes. ounces, ml etc are rather small for MY eyesight but the readout is great.
Another critisism is that it is now cheaper since I bought it!!!!
All in all a great machine and a fantastic price too with a 15 year guarantee.
How often do you see that nowadays!!!
