Awesome and easily fitted. May 22, 2007 J. Perry (London) 46 out of 46 found this review helpful
It can be a confusing choice picking the right wall bracket to put your 1000 odd Plasma/LCD on the wall. You want to be sure the thing is actually going to be secure up there!
This adjustable bracket is spot on, not only does it feel tough and well made, but it it comes with some heavy duty bolt screws and wallplugs to match. It comes as 3 main parts, a back plate and two vertical brackets. There are 6 sets of screws to choose from to make sure the brackets fit different models of TV.
Some wall brackets are fitted by sliding the brackets on from the side. As i have fitted my TV in an alcove this wasn't an option. This wall bracket was spot on for my needs, as once the back plate had been fitted it was a case of vertically hanging the brackets ontop and locking them in place.
My 40" Samsung M87 looks very sweet now it's hanging on the wall. The fact you can adjust this wall bracket's tilt vertically, is also very useful, as it allows easy access to plug in all the wires.
The set does stand a good 9cm or 3in from the wall. That is the rough measurement to the back of the TV so add the thickness of your TV to get an accurate protusion of the whole fitment.
I would recommend this bracket to all users as it is much cheaper than any you will find in stores.
HEAVY DUTY WALL MOUNT AT A GREAT PRICE September 21, 2007 William K. Davidson (Northern Ireland) 40 out of 41 found this review helpful
I was drawn to this mount by its fantastic price and by the fact that all reviewers were full of praise. I was not to be disappointed.
The mount is heavy duty and well made; no rough or unfinished edges, and it is simple to mount to the wall using the coach screws (supplied). When it has been secured in place then two brackets attach to the rear of your tv, and they provide a range of screws to accommodate a wide range of tvs. That done then you simple hook the tv onto the wall plate (best to use two people so that you can not only share the weight but can see from each side that the hooks are properly in place before you let go) and secure two screws underneath to prevent the tv from being knocked off the wall plate. Then you plug in your cables (scart to DVD player etc.) and adjust the viewing angle (you have + or - 15 degrees to play with) and voila...job done!
Note that you will need: a spirit level (to ensure that the wall plate is fixed plumb on the wall); a 12mm masonry drill bit (to drill the holes for the large wall plugs that are provided -- check that there are no electric wires nearby. If they are then you will need an electric cable detector. I would also suggest drilling small pilot holes first using a smaller bit, say a 6mm or 7mm bit); an electric drill with a chuck large enough to hold the large masonry drill bit (a battery drill is unlikely to have sufficient power to drill such large holes in masonry); and a socket set (to screw in the coach bolts). An alun key is provided which is to be used for screwing in the two bottom screws that prevent the tv from being unhooked. Ideally a screwdriver with an alun bit makes this task easier but it is not essential.
If you intend to mount the bracket to a stud wall then you will need to ensure that you drill into the uprights, which are usually placed 16 inches apart. You can use a tracker for this but you will still need to ensure that you are screwing into the middle of the upright and I would suggest that you use a fine nail and hammer to make pilot holes so that you can be sure you are finding the dead centre. Remember the bracket and tv are heavy and you would not wish to see the whole thing plummet to the ground! And take care that you are not hammering nails or screwing screws into electric cables and/or water pipes!
It may all sound complicated but the bracket comes with full instructions and diagrams and it really is a breeze to fit!
It's a heavy duty item at a truly amazing price. Don't look any further, you'll not find better value anywhere!
Plasma / LCD wall bracket February 28, 2007 R. J. Wells 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
This is a good heavy duty wall mount, nicely finished and comes complete with loads of fixings to suit almost any requirement, further to the advertised sizes given, the actual mounting arms measure 510mm long so should fit almost anything, the assembled bracket has a depth of 80mm, also included are 6 x 85mm wall bolts. The instructions are fairly simple and amusing, being the usual english translation by someone who does not have a good grasp of english, such as "then according to fig.3b, circumvolve the safe bolt into the bottom of TV panel and screwing tightly"
Wall bracket March 13, 2007 Farno (Artica) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
This comes with all you need to get a set on your wall. It comes complete with loads of fixing for your set, i've got a Samsung and it went straight on. It even comes with spacers for curved backs. 6 wall bolts are included but you will need a 10mm bit to drill holes for them. Very, very easy to use and install. What a bargin price. Very impressed with it.Easy to understand instructions. Ordered on the Friday and got it Monday. Took 2hrs from start to finish...that includes cleaning up!
Easy as it's going to be May 17, 2007 Matthew King (Harrow, UK) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
You'll need a 10mm drill bit (thanks Farno) and a 13mm Ratchet - essential Drilling 2~3mm pilot holes recommended. Fine installed on a chimney breast
Without having done this before, 2 of us took 90 minutes, including a bit of planning and thinking through. You've got to get it level, but you can move left/right, up/down a little afterwards and the tilt is well worth the few extra mm it adds to the bracket, for the perfect horizontal viewing angle and to ease access to the sockets at the back of your TV.
You get a large selection of different screws, and 2 types of spacer for non-flat back TVs. Easilly heavy duty for a 29.2kg 40" LCD. 1 star off however, as 1 of the wall bolts snapped as I did the last few turns so I only have 5 bolts taking the weight which should be fine - touch wood).
