Customer Reviews: Great idea, some problems....April 1, 2010 S. M. Cuthbertson 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's a great idea to utilise paper waste to make briquettes for burning, but it is not as brilliant or easy as it may seem. It takes an incredible amount of force to try to squeeze out most of the water to make a solid briquette, and I've found I've had to stand on the handles in order to exert sufficient force. This may obviously be quite difficult for many people! In addition I have now found that when sufficient force is applied the sides bow out a little and the paper mash squeezes out of the sides at the bottom, and bends the unit a little. Perhaps I am applying too much force, but otherwise the bricks don't seem to hold together enough. The briquettes also take an age to dry out, but I suppose this is to be expected?
