Pros and cons October 6, 2006 Pen name (UK) 49 out of 52 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace my Braun hand blender which had started to make worrying "fizzy" noise in the handle part - not good for an electrical apliance! I have to say that there are definite pros and cons to the Kenwood system. I liked the idea of having a minature chopping bowl to save getting out my big food processor to make a small amount of breadcrumbs or whatever, but I've yet to use it so can't comment on that. The hand blender stick appears more powerful than the cheaper Braun and makes my breakfast smoothie smoother. But this means it is a bit more difficult to control. Also, the Kenwood stick has a different design at the bottom which makes it splashier than the Braun - more difficult to blend small quantities without getting it all over you. But I expect the Kenwood would be better for blending a huge pan of soup. Another whinge - WHY OH WHY can't manufacturers design things better to go in the dishwasher?! This Kenwood chopping bowl and beaker have a stupid base which ends up full of water at the end of the cycle. Also the top bit of the chopping bowl and the holder for the whisk are not dishwashable. So - for small amounts get the cheap and cheerful Braun, for bigger jobs and if you really want the small chopper get this one.
Excellent kitchen gadget July 11, 2006 J. Beer (Tonbridge, Kent) 43 out of 44 found this review helpful
I have been looking for a hand blender for ages and couldn't be happier with this Kenwood 3 in 1 wizzard. It is so easy to use and clean. It chops vegetables and herbs relly easy, as well as blends food well and the whisk is also great. Most parts can go in the dishwasher but is so easy to clean anyway. This is well worth having in any kitchen.
Absolute bargain January 20, 2007 Stepping On (Surrey, UK) 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
I bought this because I enjoy making soups and was getting a little tired of constantly tipping ingredients from saucepan to food processor and back again. The Kenwood is an absolute whizz (excuse the pun) in this respect, like any hand-held blender you need to watch out for splashes, but it gets the job done like nobodies business, and it's an absolute steal at this price compared to other makes. I have to confess however that in my haste to get going I forgot to check the blender blades for protective coverings before I used it, and then had to pick shards of plastic out of my soup! Whoops. It would get the full 5 stars, but I havent used the chopper facility yet, however I dont doubt it's just as good as the rest of the product.
Product misdescribed January 29, 2008 Welfare Status (London, England) 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
The product DESCRIBED is actually the Kenwood HB665. However the product listed is the HB655. The HB655 is an inferior product with only 250W, not 400W.
the third most used appliance June 2, 2007 the malaysian samurai (chelmsford) 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
this has been a great gift. someone bought it for me when i asked for a handmixer and i thought it wouldnt be used but it has been used regularly. i use the wisk for hot chocolate ( it makes the drink rely frothy =) also when i have to make raspberry coulis (which is quite often). the first one we were given broke after the first month but that is a very good reason to shop with amazon as they replaced it almost instantly with out fuss
