Having very long thick hair myself I was worried they wouldn't work. I didn't need to worry at all, with the tutorial DVD and heat protection and creation spray my hair turns out brilliant every single time. I can't ever imagine finding a better straightener, I'm the first of my friends to own a pair and now they all have them. My hair is very thick and down to the middle of my back and I bought the normal sized plate straighteners, the wide ones are slightly too big for shorter layers and even hairdressers don't use them.

These hair straigteners are absolutely amazing, I've been through three differenct types before I bought myself a pair of these. All my previous pairs were very disappointing they either took ages to heat up, were too bulky or didn't switch off if you accidently left them on. The GHD ones heat up really quick, in around 15-20 seconds and have a cut off if you leave them on, around 15 minutes. The slim line ones really work.. My hair is slightly wavy and if left too dry naturally flicks and kinks in strange ways, however not after using these. I wouldn't go back. As for blowing up, I have heard of this but I've been using mine for well over a year now and have had no problems.

This product is really cracked up to what it should be. it is unbeatable for straightening and curling as well. BUT i only had my straightners for 3 weeks before they quite literally exploded. i was incredibly disappointed as this happened on new years eve. these claim to have a cut off heater in them but mine wasnt effective cos they blew up anyway! Its a 50/50 gamble! but i am trying to find replacements though.

Ive had my GHDs for nearly 5 years, i have heard that people have had problems with them but mine have been faultless! and they've been all around the world with me. 5 years and still working perfect

Although these straighteners are quite expensive, they will actually SAVE you money in the long run. It is well worth paying out extra rather than buying cheaper ones that just won't do the job. I have had mine for 6 years and I have never had any problems with them. They are incredibly easy to use, don't damage your hair and make your hair stay straight even after a night out dancing! The only reason I now need a new pair is because someone stood on mine and broke them :-(
