PMT has many symptoms which women can suffer for up to ten days before the period is due and in extreme cases even up to two weeks before. Various essential oils have been said to help reduce the symptoms suffered and amongst these are Geranium which is said to be an adrenal cortex stimulant. It is said to help balance the hormones so can be of assistance in menopausal problems. Bergamot has been described by aromatherapists as one of the most uplifting oils so at a time when many women can feel depressed or irritable this oil is said to lift the spirits whilst still being a relaxing oil. It blends well with any flower oils Nutmeg is reputed to be useful for menstrual cramps and has warming properties which can be comforting during this period.
