Crystallights October 1, 2007 Crystalights (London, UK) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I bought this item for my kids bedroom as I wanted something a little bit more stimulating than your bog-standard lampshade. They simply love it, and actually look forward to bedtimes now, although they can never agree on a colour! It is a little bit pricey (John Lewis are selling for 100) but it is a quality product that does look good and does what it says it does, creates different moods at a touch of a button. The remote control is simple to use.
Great lamp October 19, 2007 J. B. Kitching (UK) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
The price may seem a little steep but this lamp is well worth it, the effect of changing the hue and saturation of the colours really compliments what effect you are after. The lamp can also cycle through lots of different colours automatically. The remote control is a joy to use, simple, fun and neat looking too.
Looks nice but doesn't live up to the hype October 28, 2007 V. Jones 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Great looking lamp, found the control unresponsive and the spread of the light beam limited. Wouldn't recommend spending over 60 - 70 for this lamp.
Elegant and ambient mood lamp October 26, 2007 Mr. G. White (Edinburgh, Scotland) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a great lamp. I had toyed with mood lighting but the electrical fitting and overall cost put me off. This is a great and more affordable option. Can display just about any colour with varying intensity it really is infinite the colour you can have. The LED's are quite bright so place it with the LED's facing the wall or object so you dont catch the brightness in the corner of your eye! I put it illuminating a giant wooden parrot I've got. Scary scary atmosphere when watching Resident Evil in gory red!! Though it may seem pricey its certainly a great buy that makes a huge difference to the atmosphere of any room its used in. You'll wander what life was like without one or two of these puppy's!
Unimpressed - took mine back March 7, 2008 mandarin 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
As an owner of a Philips Ambilight TV, I thought I'd extend the mood lighting to another part of the room. I found the colour intensity very poor. As soon as you take the unit far away enough from the wall to not have an intense spotlight, the colour intensity dramatically reduces. That's why they display this in a small boxed compartment because that's the limitation. Something about the lighting on all colours seems cheap and cold. It has almost a tubelight feel to it. The unstable body is a terrible idea. The material it's made from scratches as soon as it makes contact with the parquet. The stand is just a loose 'ring' that you are supposed to place the spherical body on, but of course that severely limits the angle because it's top heavy and just rolls over (and off the surface you place it on if you're not careful!) The remote control is excellent, it works from quite far. However, if you have WiFi at home, it does interfere. Clever People.NL You need a small room, and the room needs to be white, and you need to have low expectations. Far to expensive for the 5? LED's in this over sized lump of plastic.
