Brilliant can openerAugust 30, 2007 Mrs. B. M. Webb(UK) 63 out of 68 found this review helpful
This can opener is a must for people with arthritis of the hands or fingers, it opens the cans with just one touch on the button. You dont even have to hold the can, the opener just runs around on the top of the can and opens it. Wish i had brought one years ago.
Great Gadget!October 11, 2007 Wakeskate(Fleet) 33 out of 38 found this review helpful
I bought a One Touch Automatic Can Opener recently and I have to say it's a brilliant little gadget. It really is "One Touch", all you have to do is place it on the top of the can and press the button, it does all the hard work. I will be buying another one for a friend with arthritis as it will take away the difficulty she has opening cans.
loved it at first. hate it nowOctober 22, 2007 Jean Wu(Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) 28 out of 34 found this review helpful
When the batteris are new it is a wonderful little device.
But one day, it stopped in the middle of a can. The batteries had died. The device was clamped to a half open can of soup and the only way to remove it was to get a screwdriver into the underside of the can opener and manually turn it until the can was released.
Try doing this while it is attached to a half open can of soup.
Seemed good, actually terribleDecember 18, 2007 DocOxford(Oxford, UK) 25 out of 29 found this review helpful
Awful design flaw -- the battery dies without any warning (no slowing down first -- it just stops) and then the item is essentially useless. You are supposed to be able to manually use a screwdriver to turn it out, but when I tried to do this, after one turn the screw completely fell apart and stripped out the head. The screw seems to be made of plastic or some soft metal. Also, with the can and lid attached that you can't pry loose, you can't open the battery compartment either. If the battery compartment were still accessible, you could just pop in some new batteries, but having a lid stuck in the cutter prevents the battery compartment from sliding open. So, after 4 weeks of use, I will have to just throw it away. What a waste.
Not RecommendedNovember 1, 2007 Mr. D. WALKERDINE 21 out of 24 found this review helpful
After two weeks trying this can opener has failed to open one can satisfactorily. The motor frequently stalls, particularly if there is a seam in the can side. This is despite two new sets of Duracell batteries. On the occasions when the opener travels round the can successfully, it leaves some parts of the lid not severed. Sometimes a second traverse round the can does remove the lid, sometimes not. I cannot recommend this item.
