Ideal for restaurants, hotels and cafes (both indoors and outside) or anywhere else where ambience is vitally important for business. With Imageo Candle Light, you have the glow and gentle flicker associated with candles, but none of the drawbacks of an open flame. Candle Light is an LED light source designed so that its appearance, right down to its flickering, dancing yellow light, is just like the real thing.

What a way to solve a problem that didn't need to be solved May 30, 2007 m tennant (united kingdom) 47 out of 48 found this review helpful
There wasnt a problem with candles that needed to be solved, but if any one was going to try it would be philips, well i for one am glad they have. The philips imageo candle's are brilliant and extremelly easy to use. They arive in a well designed box, you get three candles a mains lead and a charging stand, The candles need charged for 12 hours before use and this is extremelly easy, the candes simpy sit on the charging stand i.e not wired in. After the 12 hours they are fully charged for 24 hours. To turn these on it is very easy and inovative, There is no button to press you simply tilt the candle to the side and the candle lights up, the candles are also lightweight and ideal for outdoor and indoor use as they are waterpoof. In my opinion they produce a fantastic effect and are well worth the price in fact i have allready ordered another set. go out there and join the candle revoloution
You don't have to wait for the rain to stop July 9, 2007 Chris H (Leafy Warwickshire) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
These are extremely easy to use and give your little piece of outdoor space an atmospheric twinkle without the dangers of real candles to children and pets. They're waterproof (I've proven that) insofar as they can be left out in the rain (turned upside down) and really attractive on a mild evening as the sun goes down (typically behind a huge thunder cloud this summer).
Not Waterproof! January 8, 2008 b4-its-2-l8 (London) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I ordered these lights after reading a couple of reviews stating they're 'waterproof'. Well now that they've arrived, I would like to correct those reviews. Sadly, these lights are NOT waterproof, it even clearly says so on the instruction leaflet, which also advises; when cleaning don't get them wet, at most, use only a damp cloth. It's a shame, I had been looking forward to plonking a couple in the bath once I'd got them fully charged (childish perhaps, but we all have our quirks).
After this disappointment I didn't think too much of them at first. When I initially switched one on, done by a gentle flick of the wrist, I was looking down on it from above and the bulb didn't look candle-like at all, just a small blinking orange light, which if it's supposed to be a candle, is clearly a candle in a strong breeze.
That said, viewed from the side, through the frosted glass - as they are meant to be - these lights quickly started to grow on me and, and the funny trick they play on my mind is that a couple of times, even though I know they're fake, if I've had them on a while I've been cautious of burning myself when picking them up! Of course, there is no heat generated by them at all, so this is ludicrous.
The literature also states you can buy additional lights on their own without the need to buy other charging units so that's useful if you're planning on having multiples of these but 3's fine for me.
One gripe I have with 1 of the 3 lights supplied is that the on/off flick switch can be a bit erratic, so the novelty of having no visible buttons to push etc. wears a bit thin when having to flick the unit a number of times to get it to respond.
Overall, I like these, I think they give a nice warming glow and if the flickering motion is too much for you, placing the lights closer together helps cancel out some of this effect leaving you with a subtle lighting level.

Bought for the garden the summer but used now - seem like a good idea and a whole lot less hassle then the real thing.
An illuminating product December 11, 2007 Paul Madge (West Sussex UK) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I was surprised to see this in the Philips portfolio - it is the sort of concept you would expect to see from an unknown brand, however, it is a superb product. You get three "LED candles" and a charger tray. The set is finished in opaque glass and silver plastic to a very high standard. The three "candles" sit on the charger tray until needed, although, cleverly, there are no obvious metal contacts between the bottom of the "candles" and the charger tray. When switched on by a gentle shake the "candles" give off an atmospheric light that is truly comparable to a traditional candle and can be placed anywhere independent of the charger but without any of the associated fire risks (statistics show 2000 people died in the UK last year as a result of candle initiated fires). The light lasts for about 20 hours or so and is ideal for dinner parties etc. All in all a dubious sounding concept brought to life in a quality way by Philips. Highly recommended on the basis of form, function and quality as well as being good value and a highly presentable gift.
