Product Description 1.7L durable, stainless-steel kettle with concealed heating element, 360 rotational base, removable scale filter, 3-level safety system and clear water-level indication windows. This elegant and durable stainless-steel Brushed Metal Jug boils water quickly. The safety system turns the power off once the water has boiled, if the kettle is accidentally switched on when empty, or in the case of a short circuit. The removable and washable scale filter ensures hot beverages that are free of any scale particles. The concealed heating element heats evenly, fast and efficiently. The element surface is completely flat, making it easy to clean. Please Note: All electrical products sold by cookinstyle (InStyle Products Limited) are supplied with a UK 3 pin plug.

Still a great product - updated a year after purchasing! May 23, 2006 Nicholas Blackman (Norfolk-England) 89 out of 90 found this review helpful
We had been looking for quite a while for a nice new, brushed stainless steel kettle, but after looking at lots of different designs we opted for this one. I am very pleased to report that over a year after purchasing our Philips kettle (from Amazon) it is still as good as the day we bought it! The Stainless Steel body is very easy to clean so still looks fab, it still boils water very rapidly, and we've had no problems with leaks or drips (which I know can happen with some kettles after a while) so it still pours far more effectively than any other kettle I've used. No gimmicky flashing lights to go wrong, just a good solid product. It comes with a water filter that is easy to remove and clean ensuring nice clean boiled water every time; we added a removable metal limescale inhibitor/catcher and this has helped dramatically to reduce the build up of limescale so the inside of the kettle is still also nice and clean! Thoroughly recommended!!
Great and actually boils the water March 7, 2007 Oavde (Australia) 54 out of 59 found this review helpful
This kettle is great all the other reviews are spot on. This kettle actually boils the water - a lot of kettles do not, they cut out just shy of 100 degrees. Very frustrating, my old kettle, which was a similarly appearing Breville, did not truly boil the water. You can really notice it with tea. One buyer complained that you cannot make a small amount of water e.g 1 or 2 cups, well that is true I'd say about 2 cups is the minimum. However if boiling for tea that is the minimum you would want to boil to ensure you get max oxygen in the water, in fact you'd be better off boiling the whole kettle and hence lose less oxygen from the water during the process. No I am not talking about breaking the H2O bonds but releasing oxygen dissolved in the water ... you want oxygen rich water to brew the tea, which is why you should not reuse or reboil the water. The rapid boiling of 3000w is important for keeping O levels high. The energy to boil 3 cups vs 2 cups is insignificant at normal altitude in an enclosed device like this, and you can always use the excess water for something else. So that reader was being a bit silly. The big mouthed spout is accurate. The handle easy to hold. If you touch the metal parts you will get burnt. But the handle area is well covered, and the two plastic windows also can protect you. Probably would be a good idea to not have the windows however, it is fun watching the water boil madly. The light around the power switch is very classy. The switch seems very robust (broke the last one on a different brand). Makes a masculine roaring gurgle all in all, a real mans kettle this one. Cord stores in the base, can have as much or little as you want hanging out, keeps kitchen neat. Cannot fault it so far. Tea quality is very robust. Very happy. Would recommend to anyone especially in this world full of rubbish kettles that don't even do the job they are meant to do.

Excellent Value November 8, 2006 Sharrie (Surrey, UK) 39 out of 39 found this review helpful
My last 70 "designer" kettle lasted barely two years! Bought this one based on previous reviews - was not disappointed. Nice design, not too large and brushed stainless steel finish fits in well with my other kitchen appliances. Excellent value for money!
At long last my search is over. Excellent design, September 28, 2006 Tellboy (Manchester) 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
I wanted a kettle that would boil water to boiling point not to whatever temperature it felt like, it would have a lid I could remove easily without needing a tyre lever, a light to let you know it was switched on, a water level indicator you could see without using a magnifying glass, a spout that let you actually pour the boiling water where you wanted it to go and not all over the work surface and brushed stainless to match other items. Does all this sound familiar ? This kettle was the only one I have found that meets all those things. It is so good I have today ordered another one so I do not need to go through all this trauma if this one packs in a week after the guarantee expires.
